Fingers crossed you get in and sorted ASAP so you can start to rebuild your confidence and be able to spend some quality time in your own space without having to worry about anyone else.
Charity furniture shops are a god send aren't they - we have a couple near here (although one thinks it's in competition with new furniture stores and marks everything up at Harveys style prices and then wonders why nothing sells :rotfl:)

Not long now until the big 3 0. I loved it and even the big 4 0. I'm 45 this year and this is the year that I've felt more down than ever, but obviously to do with this situation.
I think we might need to book a little on line party for you!!

That's made me feel a bit better Tink! I'm sure it won't be a big deal really, and I wasn't bothered about it until it got closer and everyone around me got pregnant!
This is your year Tink, once you are in the new place you'll be happier than ever, I'm sure of it!
Thanks Bob, that's what I thought! My stomach was quite painful yesterday so I really appreciated an evening on the sofa with OH, chilling out with a hot water bottle. Been poring over the snowball calculator trying desperately to work out how I can get everything paid off quicker, but short of prostitution I think I'll struggle :rotfl: back to eBay I go!:j PAID VERY, Barclaycard x3, Vanquis, Natwest, O/D, Tesco & MBNA x2 PAID :j LBM 24/07/15 - Original Debt: £0/31010.23 (100% paid)

A strange occurence this morning - I seem to have had a small refund from the solicitors who dealt with our house purchase, and have no idea why as they haven't sent me any correspondence - the other strange thing is it's gone to my natwest loan, which doesn't accept transfers electronically - to make an overpayment I have to ring them direct but this is showing as a transfer payment. I also have no idea how they got my loan account details
no idea, but I'm not complaining! They massively overcharged us for shoddy service so I'm happy to have a little of it back
Although now I think about it, I'm stressing as if they ask for it back I can't withdraw it from the loan and that will massively impact my budget....ARGH!:j PAID VERY, Barclaycard x3, Vanquis, Natwest, O/D, Tesco & MBNA x2 PAID :j LBM 24/07/15 - Original Debt: £0/31010.23 (100% paid)

I need to have a bit of a rant so apologies in advance....
OH borrowed some money from his parents as an emergency fund through xmas. He didn't use it so called to ask them for their bank details to send it back to them and they told him to put it in the emergency house fund. He hasn't done and I've tried very hard not to say anything but it has bugged me a little. I feel bad for saying that as they helped us out so much with the house deposit, and they are his parents but any of my family who have given us money has gone straight into the house account and paid for house things.
I found out this morning (he got paid yesterday and is already stressing out about money as we are away seeing his brother for a few days next month, and he is in london this coming weekend) that he spent £350 of it 'surviving' the long pay month - I'm livid! He had a day out at the car show (don't begrudge it, but wish he would budget for it!) which cost £100 between train, entry, a t shirt and lunch, the rest he has just frittered away! That's £250 that I don't think he can even account for!
He keeps whining that he needs a better job with a better salary, but if he can't manage on what he earns that won't help. I don't know how I can make him manage his money (he is completely against debt, so I know how won't get into trouble like that) but how are we going to cope with me on maternity leave (fingers crossed!) if he fritters money away like that?:j PAID VERY, Barclaycard x3, Vanquis, Natwest, O/D, Tesco & MBNA x2 PAID :j LBM 24/07/15 - Original Debt: £0/31010.23 (100% paid)

Sounds like he has the same trouble I do with money. If it's there, he'll spend it. If it's not then he won't because he can't. I would ask him straight out to transfer the rest of the £ to the house fund. It's only now that I account for every single penny I have that I can honestly budget. Other than that it's a few quid here, a quick takeaway there etc. and before you know it you're overdrawn/skint/maxed out on credit etc.
Once I'd had my lbm, I started to get really resentful of dh finding the cash to fritter away on alcohol. I added up that he was spending over £200 a month on alcohol. Our agreement was always that once we'd paid the bills then what was left was ours to do what we want with. For me that was debt bust, and for him it was drink. Difficult not to be resentful of that - but I don't think he or I had realised what a problem he had. It was only when everything came to a head just before Christmas that it hit me just how resentful I was that I was scrimping and saving and he was doing what he wanted. I really hope that you get things sorted out with your oh soon...Not giving up

I think that is a massive part of the problem ccl, if he sees it there it's fine to spend in his mind. He transfers £200 a month to a savings account (should be more in my mind, he takes home £1300 a month and has no debt - his half of the bills is only £500 so who knows what he does with the rest, but that's up to him until it becomes a fully joint budget once my debt is clear). but he dips into that throughout the month when he fancies doing something (never for us though, which I think is what grates even more)
I budget an amount per month for us to have a date night, and so does he technically but it always falls to me to organise. We had a date night last night. my dad had given us £40 to spend on a nice date night as the last few weeks have been so tough, so I found a 40% of voucher for Bella Italia and we went there, followed by bowling (total cost £48, so technically only cost us £8 :T) I just wish he would make some effort to do something for me for once - when I'm really really down he will buy me a bunch of flowers or a bottle of medicine which is sweet, and I really appreciate it but when I'm ok it's a case of - ah well, no need!)
We were talking yesterday about money as he needs to have enough for the holiday spends - no problem if he doesn't touch his savings between now and the holiday, but apparently that savings account money is to cover his holiday spends, my birthday (present AND meal!) and his half of the patio door we are aiming to have installed by June....he's in cloud cuckoo land when it comes to money! and is heading off to London this weekend for a kiwi abroad celebration around westminster abbey - basically a bunch of kiwis getting drunk and then doing the haka by Big Ben...maybe I'm just jealous because it sounds like a lot of fun :rotfl:
I think the last few weeks are just catching up with me, and I'm taking all my frustrations out on him. We did have a nice night last night so I'm going to try and not let myself get riled by little things today - I'm off to Venice on Thursday so I want us to have a nice weekend. Fingers crossed!
In other news.....I have dipped into the £16 thousands!!!! I'm so very happy and excited about it, I think I'll be able to get under £16k by my birthday which I'll be so pleased about - still heading in the right direction!!

We finally booked my birthday holiday today! We aren't going until the end of April to give us both some extra time to save for spends, but we are heading to Marrakech! I have been driving OH mad with my indecisiveness, but I wanted to get the best quality for the lowest price. The place we are going has really good reviews on trip advisor and on the holiday website so fingers crossed it's worth every penny.
Booking this has given me a reminder how different I am this year compared to last. We originally (pre-LBM) planned to go to Mexico for my 30th, which would have inevitably gone on a CC and cost a fortune in the long run. Right now I have more than enough space on my CC to book Mexico, but I'd rather not go anywhere than do that these days! Because of my birthday money it's not going to impact my DFD. I'm so grateful for that. There's actually a little left over to make a PAD tomorrow
The way I see it, I've never been to Morocco so it's a new place, for the same price as the canary islands which I've been to already. It might not be the original plan but I'm pretty sure we will have an amazing time away, with quality time to ourselves. We got a brilliant deal as well, and are actually away for 15 nights. Exciting!! When I'm debt free and OH is better controlled with money, we will still do Mexico (unless we have a little reason not to....fingers crossed!):j PAID VERY, Barclaycard x3, Vanquis, Natwest, O/D, Tesco & MBNA x2 PAID :j LBM 24/07/15 - Original Debt: £0/31010.23 (100% paid)
