Aw Kirsty - I wish I could reach through here and give you a massive hug. It is a terrible time that you're going through at the moment, and your reactions are honestly perfectly normal. Please allow yourself to be upset and cry as much as you like. That's ok. Other people don't mind, and your mum is upset because she doesn't like to see her little girl hurting (30 or not you're her little girl and always will be).
Is there no way that you can self refer for counselling? All ours here is self referral - you may remember the hassle I had trying to get the doctor to refer dh. It may be worth checking that option out. But do go to your appointment, and do take all of the help that's offered to you.
Might it be worth you taking a bit of time off work to get some r&r? I know it may be the last thing that you fancy but could be just what you need.

Bob and ccl - thank you both so much, as always.
ccl - that's exactly what my mom said. One day hopefully I'll find that out for myself but in the meantime I'm going to try not to worry her like that - I don't like upsetting her. She has enough on her plate as it is.
I think there is a counselling service I can call, but the last time I was referred I got a brilliant psychologist who did CBT with me so I'm going to try and be referred straight to him as he was the 6th () I've seen and was by far the best.
I wish I could take some time off but we are so short staffed, it would only make things worse in the long run. I already have all my holiday booked for this year so would need to be either sick leave or unpaid - either way it's less money to pay off debt:j PAID VERY, Barclaycard x3, Vanquis, Natwest, O/D, Tesco & MBNA x2 PAID :j LBM 24/07/15 - Original Debt: £0/31010.23 (100% paid)

Yes, counselling and CBT is really about finding the person that fits I think. Hope it works out for you... and I completely understand about work - my job is exactly the same. Not giving up

I don't know how you cope with your job ccl - stresses from above and the kids to deal with would break me I think!
I've got my mammogram this afternoon which is bothering me a bit - funnily enough, not the results just the actual mammogram being painful!:j PAID VERY, Barclaycard x3, Vanquis, Natwest, O/D, Tesco & MBNA x2 PAID :j LBM 24/07/15 - Original Debt: £0/31010.23 (100% paid)

Thanks Ena, it wasn't as bad as I expected and appears to be a cyst so all is well. I'm just a bit sore and tired now, and it's friends date night tonight. I feel bad giving it a miss but will decide a bit later if I'm too tired.:j PAID VERY, Barclaycard x3, Vanquis, Natwest, O/D, Tesco & MBNA x2 PAID :j LBM 24/07/15 - Original Debt: £0/31010.23 (100% paid)

Hi Kirsty. Sorry I've been a bit awol and not here to support you. I'm sending the biggest virtual hugs possible, and a big slice of chocolate cake and because its virtual you can eat it all.
How is the no smoking going? I'm on 7 months now and its only this week that I have really wanted one, but its been a bit of a rough week.

Hi Tink, don't be silly, you've had a busy time and a lot on your own plate! How are things? Are you in the flat now?
I'm sticking to the no smoking well at the moment, it only really crosses my mind when I've had a drink but I haven't caved so far. You've done so well - 7 months!! It's bound to get more difficult when you're having a tough time, but stay strong. Sending you big hugs!
Thanks ccl, you too! Hope you feel better by the morning

I've had the provisional offer today so hopefully next week.
It's ridiculous here now and I can't wait just to have a bit of peace and get my sanity back (and my confidence).
Have bought a few things already from local charity places but they are being really good and holding onto them for me until I need them.
Glad to hear everything went well with the mammogram, I bet that's a bit weight off you mind hun.
