Thank you all so much. I know that visiting his parents is the right thing to do and I know I won't regret it but I crave reassurance at the best of times, especially from people who understand the debt free journey.
Some of my friends seem to think I'm ridiculous even thinking about my debt in the face of what is going on, but I can't completely let go when I've worked so hard to get this far!

We had a lovely weekend and got lots done in the house - tumble dryer vent fitted, 2 external lights fitted, 2 light fittings fitted, curtain pole up, TV and sound bar on the wall and pictures and mirror up. So pleased with the way it is all looking!

Did have some spends for a particular type of screw to make sure the TV didn't fall off the wall but worth it if it means it stays put! Only £12 so not huge in the grand scheme of things.

Got a TCB payout just under £30 arrive so that will be paid off a card today, just need to decide which one!

Myself and a friend got some vouchers from a group of friends for a spa day for our 30th birthdays...I'm coming up 31 now and haven't used them yet so we booked in for end of this month -a day in the spa, an indian head massage and a back massage with lunch included. I cannot wait!

Kitten, you are always so encouraging, it's lovely! How is the house going? Any more painting done?!

    K xx

Kirsty The thing is most people don't live in the MSE bubble. Most continue to rack it up without thought, sleepwalking towards the danger zone. So don't even think about how most of them think! Stay here with us and be among people who want freedom not more chains!

Thank you Bob, I knew you'd know what I meant from my ramblings!

I feel safe and comfortable talking about things like this here, not so much in RL.

I know everyone think they are being supportive by telling me I shouldn't worry about money when there are more important things going on. I agree with those people but I feel anxious at the thought of adding to my debt so I need to make sure we do it properly. If anything changed with OHs mam we would be on a plan in an instant, debt be damned but as it looks like we will be able to go later in the year and save for it, I would much rather go down that route!

You are wise to take that view as well. It's easy to think of an excuse to never worry about money if you go with that view. I think most days I could think of an excuse not to try and claim my debt freedom. Oh I've got a baby so I can't work. Rubbish. I can't find a job. Rubbish. It's easy to just make poor choices and blame them on circumstance. Bah! You know what you are doing it's so clear. Nothing but support from us.

Thank you!! I feel much happier about my decision knowing it makes sense to all of you as well as me!

Well this morning I tried to make a payment of £25 off the Tesco CC and my fat fingers slipped and I accidentally paid off £225  that is definitely NOT a budgeted PAD so will have to come out of savings. The bonus is that it has gone off my debt so will benefit me in the long run anyway, and that I have the money in savings to be able to do it :D

Now only have £25 left on the tesco CC, which may well die a death tomorrow if I do some more savings juggling. I wasn't planning on paying it off this month but now it's almost there I may aswell!

Meetings at work at the moment which are a pain. New starter and the person who is supposed to be training them keeps leaving the office on jobs which weren't urgent last week but simply can't wait another hour now  I am currently juggling my job, the accounts ladies job and training new lady. Busy busy!

Thanks Abba well, it's done, I figured given there was only £25 left on there, it would be best to just clear it :)

    So I'm down a debt, and under £7K :D

OH has been more spendy than he has been letting on to me, and has control of one of our savings accounts - I knew how much should be in it so asked him to transfer to our main savings account and there is £150 less than I know was in there...not impressed as he doesn't seem to be able to tell me where it has gone

I know it was probably on screws/fixings and outside lights but I'm very annoyed that he has just been spending without telling me so I can update the spreadsheet. We are sitting down tonight to go through exactly where it has all gone, and he will not have money in that account anymore.

We have set up some joint savings accounts over the past month - for presents etc and one for our main savings that we will both have access to. Savings have always been in my name and I wanted to make it more fair but there are going to be some serious ground rules!

Thanks Bob, I feel a bit bad as made him sit down and got through every transaction with me and turns out he had used the wrong card to buy a Xmas present so had the money sat in another account. He also then transferred £50 to pay off his CC - which is actually my debt on a CC in his name so he's made up for yesterdays stress :)

I had a bit of a fall last night, which despite being comical for both OH and I, has resulted in not being able to walk properly and being black and blue from hip to knee :(
We were trying to sort out the garage and whilst moving a BBQ I tripped and landed on the corner of an empty (but still made up) box, which then crumpled under and around me so I was trapped partly inside :rotfl:
I was crying with laughter and pain at the same time, much to OHs amusement and concern. Will be having a long hot bath later to try and ease the aches and pains!

Oh bless you Kirsty, so sorry to hear of your fall! It's horrible that moment when you realise it's happening and can't stop yourself.

That's good that your team work with OH cracked the case of the missing money, and best outcome all round.
