Hello again everyone
Sorry to hear your sad news, jockett. Big hugs to you.
I had a big lightbulb moment the other day - I was due to move to Lancashire and start studying for an MA in Lancaster next month but my house move fell through and we are staying put for the time being. I thought I could still do it driving in every day from Cheshire but I found to my horror that I'm not entitled to park on campus - it would make the journey take about two hours each way if I had to park off-site and walk in. I realised that there was just no way I was going to cope - I suffer really badly from anxiety and depression and I've just got to be realistic.
Anyway, I've spent the last few days on the phone to other universities and I'm now taking a little break in the middle of filling in a dreadful application form to study for an MA at Salford - OH works in Salford and can give me a lift every day. If he was ill or working away there's also a train, so it all makes much more sense.
Please keep your fingers crossed for me - I'm desperate to change career and this would be such a great opportunity for me.

Hello everyone - only just got on the computer as have been rushing round all day doing nothing in particular. I had to run DD1 to a tennis match 14 miles away so that took up loads of time as she was ages getting ready and then moaned all the way because we weren't getting there fast enough! AS results today - DD2 didn't do well, due to the fact that she did no work at all and is now regretting it - she is repeating year 12 but I am not optimistic....
Congratulations to Miss Pink though!
Scuzz - hope you make the right decision about the job.
jockettuk - I am so sorry to hear that you miscarried. Like many others on here I have been there - I had several miscarraiges and lost DD2's twin and it is really hard. I know everyone says it happens for a reason but that doesn't stop it hurting emotionally.
anniebooklover - glad you got the antibiotics and hope they kick in soon.
ellie2912 - hope you get a better night's sleep tonight with your back. Sciatica can be agonizing.
Scubaleopard - Have you looked for wheels on the net other than ebay? I found some through googling car parts - there are loads where you just key in what you are looking for and they find it for you. I got a Renault wing mirror (electric one) for a third of the price - unfortunately I had to get my computer hard drive wiped a couple of weeks ago and so don't have the web address any more but you should find loads on google.
Hope that JackieO and Penny-Pincher are okay.
I was really fed up when I was out before and bought myself the book of the Channel 4 series "Cook yourself Thin!" - I wish;)
Hope you are all having a good day.Jane

Popped back to have another read. Just had hair done. Why do I end up with a headache and feeling so tired when it should have been calming? Hairdressers (Cats Whiskers in Winchcombe) hoping to be on Central tv tomorrow as they're supporting the Cancer Research by wearing wedding outfits to work and collecting sponsorship! I'm planning to pop back tomorrow and see how it's going. They've borrowed a wedding dress from the local (new) posh-dress shop (me-me-me) and it's gorgeous... only £2300 worth but oh-so-nice! Certainly makes people stop and walk in the shop!
Was going to take PKitty outside to play but just realised he's curled up in this scrunchytunnel thing he's been ignoring (and so nearly made it into the car boot stuff). Maybe later.
Dlb - hope there's not too much damage!0 -
Hi all
Just got back from shopping, the Clarks shoe shop had loads of bargains, so I bought 2 pairs of sandles & 2 pairs of shoes, I know it's a lot, but last time I did the the shoes lasted 15 years, if these do the same it will work out at £6 a year, so I don't think that's too bad.
Well one to Miss Pink
Hugs Hester

Afternoon all,
just sat down after running back and for to the washing line - things are actually drying!!!!!
DS2 is walking round smiling, so that is good - he is going to ask for a re-mark on one paper as he was 1 mark off an A. He has another year to go before the actual A-levels. Congratulations to all who are celebrating, start reading the Student MSE pages!!!!!!!I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.0 -
Hi everyone
Have managed to borrow a laptop and I have plugged into Mum's phone line to dial up - gosh, I had forgotten how slow it can be.
Good news, she is getting home tomorrow. Her medication from last week was wrong which has caused the current problem. I will stay with her for another couple of days to make sure all OK and have asked DSister to take over. My work was really good but I can't impose too much - I really must start back properly on Monday.
Haven't had a chance to read the thread today, especially as I don't want to run up Mum's phone bills.
Take care everyone. Hope exam results were good for those receiving them. Happy birthday to anyone celebrating, congrats to anyone else with significant events, and commiserations to those who are poorly or not having a good time.
Thanks for you support, as always.
Love

Evening All *sighs and takes big slurp of tea - first time posterior has hit fabric since the duvet this am*
What a mixed day for everyone.
Miss Pink - huge congratulations, what an achievement!
Jockett - cannot begin to tell you how much I empathise with you. I have a special rose bush planted in memory of our little one, eleven years old now.
Hope the evening brings everyone fun and a peaceful and restful night's sleep.
Take care,
Tilly
xxThanks to this fantastic site and it's amazing people, we have paid over £63, 000 off - just over half way!!!:T THANK YOU:T0 -
Just a quicky - got Mum home tonight so don't want to run up her phone bill with dial up. She just like her usual self thank goodness - rather cantancarous! Will stay until Saturday and then my sister will have to take over. I need Sunday to get organised before I go back to work on Monday.
Jockett - just read what has happened. I am so sorry. No words can express truly how you will feel. There must be reasons. Love and hugs.
Love and hugs to all.

Hi!
jockettuk So sorry to hear your sad news.
Hope everyone is ok as I've not been around for a few weeks
Well we got back from Holland yesterday after crossing the channel on a very bumpy ferry and after DD2 chucked up in our lovely cabin! We've been away for the past 3 weeks, spending the first week with a friend and then travelling around the rest of the country and staying in 4 different campsites in our 4 berth tent, no electricity etc.We had a great time but it was hard work (especially for me) and exhausting at times...I could do with a holiday!
I've done over 10 loads of washing in the past 24 hours and as it has been raining on and off today, it has been hanging all over the house. I did a big shop at Asda today and bought 2 large chickens for £5 which I reckon will give us about 5 or 6 meals in total.
Next week DH is 'transforming' our old kitchen by replacing the worktops and cupboard doors and the sink. So I'll have to empty the cupboards, drawers etc for a while. I tried really hard not to buy too much in Asda today as I will have to store it in other rooms in the house while he does the kitchen. My dad is coming over to help him so I will have to find cheap ways to entertain the girls.
We're all going into town tomorrow to see The Simpsons movie before DH gets his DIY head on.
Have a good evening!0 -
Evening all
Well I can no longer call myself stressedoutmumof1 (for the next 5 days anyway) I'm just stressedout :rotfl: DD went to Ireland this morning with the IL's and will be back Tuesday night, she arrived safely and had a big roast beef dinner on her arrival - she's nearly 9 and has never met any of her Irish rellies (DH's side) so she's getting the good Irish welcome and fussing and is having a ballDH is working tonight so I'm home alone  The wine has been opened and all my good plans have gone out the window - I *was* supposed to start teaching myself how to purl (knitting) - I've finally mastered "knit stitch" so onwards and upwards
DH and I have booked a table at our local Indian restaurant tomorrow night, not very money saving, but we very rarely go out we thought we'd take advantage of a child free night - what's the betting DD is all we talk about :rotfl:
OS wise, not very much happened today - I went back to work after my 3 days off, I did the washing up if that counts  Whilst DD is away we are looking after the IL's dog, I'm not a *doggy* person, but it's good fun - he is my shadow, I can't even have a bath in peace
(((((hugs))))) to JockettUK - I'm not very good with words, but I'm sincerely sending you warm wishes
Take care everyone - Grannybroon - good luck in taking care of your MumSquares knitted for my throw ~ 90 (yes!!! I have finally finished it :rotfl: )Squares made for my patchwork quilt ~ 80 (only the "actual" quilting to do now :rotfl:)0
