I have a mortgage on a 3bed house in a nice area, 2011 ford cmax, many other commitments and pay all of our bills on 25000 (everthing ) per annum.0 -

You do not know my situation or what I spend my money on - talk about judgemental. £600 per month in rent for same close I live in... Hardly cheap. I saved up for a deposit and bought my home! So what.... I have two kids and Im married.... I provide for my family and I am not ashamed of claiming 2500 per year from a pot I paid into and still do! If my wages increased then I wouldnt need to claim WTC but whilst business owners bleed their staff dry that wont happen.

But, and I'm really not having a go at you, you also have an enormous amount of debt so not perhaps in the best place to lecture people about managing.:)0 -

It's not bashing it's the fact you seem so blinkered in what others pay. £600 a month is very cheap for a lot of the UK.
It's great you bought your own home, you should be proud at your age
However, you seem to criticise that someone on £50k should manage better despite knowing that people need to pay much higher housing and childcare. Just for arguments sake factor in childcare. Just childcare. Do you see how that £9 won't make a difference to many?Tomorrow is the most important thing in life0 -

Absolutely! But hold on how are small business's who have staff going to pay for it?
Ok so working wage goes up. So does food because it will now cost more to produce, transport, process, serve.
Everything is proportional. I employee people and have never ever paid minimum wage but honestly £9.00 per hour? Why on make it £20 or £30? It makes no difference If we all earn more but pay more.
The system in what ever form has to reward people who can work to work. Again I stress there is nothing wrong with our current system instead it is the people abusing it. People steeling money from legitimate people who have a genuine need.
I hate to say it but statistically I suppose I am classed as middle income ( hate that word) and for years I have had been squeezed and squeezed. Never been able to get any help with child care, anything.
I would of loved to work part time and be able to pick my children up from school but we could not afford me to drop to reduced hours.
I do not begrudge a penny I pay on tax when it goes to people who need it but I could rant for days when I see the lifestyle claimants.
We do not owe anyone anything this is a society and we should be proud to help ourselves and each other but this can not come at a cost where by a few are working until they drop to fund the lifestyles of the others.
Holidays god I would love on. Even two days off together. Even a day off with my OH but our shift patterns nearly always clash. The word entitled should be banned and instead it should be what do I really need. I night out, mobile phone and 50" TV is not a basic human right.
I know that innocent people will be hurt by the cuts. But this is not the governments fault it is ours. We have been borrowing money to pay for benefits and it is unsustainable. The nets are closing in and we not the governments are making the so small that real people will get hurt and for that I think we should all be ashamed. I am not for one second saying that anyone who is on benefits has to march to the job centre. Unfortunately some people can not work, are unwell or looking after the genuinely vulnerable. But God why should I kill myself to pay for someone else to be able to spend their life as a career claimant.
Benefits, tax credits, housing allowances, universal what ever's are there to help real people will real needs and not as an easy option!Happiness, Health and Wealth in that order please!:A0 -
