Once you have paid that £100 can you park there for ever?
What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?

Depends what the signage sez stupid! And given the, uh, creative approach to the English language adopted by most knuckle-scraping ex-doorman IPC members we can doubtless continue to enjoy an endless variety of bizarre, illogical and totally meaningless gobbledegook!

In most cases it would appear so, it could also be a cheap method of holiday airport parking, park in a supermarket / retail park, with the option of blocking the entrance/fire exits or anything else - leave a note on your car window stating that you have parked in that position as per the terms and conditions on the signage and will be back in a fortnight, happy to pay the fee of £60/70/ with early discount /whatever

I think if you look on some of the more recent IPC signs there's a 'per 24 hours' clause in there somewhere.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

At most airports (perhaps Liverpool?) you could probably park on the road and not only save a fortune over the official car parking but also be much closer to the terminal!

I think I would want to be honest and upfront about it though so best send VCS (or whoever) a cheque for £100 before parking.

Letting the airport/VCS know youve parked as per the Ts&Cs would be good manners, and it would also serve as a notification that the vehicle want abandoned or any sort of security threat.
It would also be worth notifying the police to be extra safe

Or you could borrow a friend's car and park there for nothing (as long as they don't find out you were the driver).

Such arguments should have no place in the SC's decision. They are not there to support an industry. They are there to clarify the law.

Perhaps - but I suspect it will still be in the back of their minds.

Regarding the banning of clamping - yes it was banned but it wasn't overnight - there was months of notice.

Perhaps if the SC decide it was a penalty they might enlighten us on what would not be a penalty and how that might be calculated.

Unfortunately due to work reasons I only had a short time to watch the SC this afternoon but the last QC mentioned two words and I wrote those down. Properly Understood when referring to how a contract is read by the parties.
