isnt it Michael Bloch Q.C. ? representing Makadessi

and earlier Joanna Smith Q.C. for Cavendish

I would love to see an argument between these learned people and Will Hurley and Patrick Troy :)

This is Michael Bloch QC, counsel for Makdessi.

He's demolished most of the previous QC's arguments in 10 minutes.

I have been providing assistance, including Lay Representation at Court hearings (current score: won 57, lost 14), to defendants in parking cases for over 5 years. I have an LLB (Hons) degree, and have a Graduate Diploma in Civil Litigation from CILEx. However, any advice given on these forums by me is NOT formal legal advice, and I accept no liability for its accuracy.

If all these bores are doing is effectively reading out their written submissions it seems a complete waste of everyone's time.

They're off there right now! Good call @atilla. :)
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Only caught it in passing on Breakfast, so can't quote, might check on-line/catchup.

The guy defending the PPC argument was vey weak and said if they lose the case they will just have to change their wording to make it a fee for parking(or similar).

A contractual charge. Yeah, good luck with that. I can't see many judges buying that argument.

Plus then they open themselves up to rather large VAT bills, which I'm sure they'll all be thrilled about.

He might have, but was anyone listening. Probably all lost the will to live.

Genius Will Hurley. What he's effectively saying is that they will be offering contracts to the effect that you can park in disabled bays, block entrances, park across the fire exits or anything you like really, so long as you pay £85 or £100 or whatever for the privilege.

He must be even more stupid than he looks if he thinks a court is gonna fall for that, and it'll be hilarious the first time someone calls him on it by completely blocking a car park entrance/exit and 'phoning up his member to ask where they pay their £100.
