On what number? I can't find any contact numbers on their website.

Ah, I've just looked and it's not there. I did phone them last year, but the website's changed :o

    Perhaps try directory enquiries?

Make sure you've got good reception, and if you do it might just be the software...sometimes it says that even though it successfully sends a text

I cannot get vyke pro to install on my samsung D900i and do not like the lite version not sending my number - so I tried FishText.com
It seems the charges are similar to vyke and the users receive messages as if they were from my mobile (and can reply to them) the only problem I have with it is my phone will not allow java applications to run in the background so if i want to send and receive free texts (still charged for internet access) from another textfish user I have to leave the program running - not really a huge issue.

    Hope that helps someone.

Thanks, I'm going to try FishText.com.

Vyke doesn't work with T-Mobile/Virgin and Vyke technical support is a waste of time. Martin should stop promoting a service that doesn't fully work.

I've used Vyke lite on my Tmobile MDA compact phone since learning about it a month or so ago on this forum. It works most times (99%), my number appears as the sender, and even with their recent price increase, it only costs me 3p a text to Nigeria. I just had a look at FishText, and they seem pricier. My advice is to look around and see which option works for you. One man's meat etc.

Works with Virgin for me but not o2!
  • Vyke Pro is working on O2 for me, in as much as it sends messages but the problem is that when a message is received it makes a sound and flashes the screen. It stops with the light off and I can't turn it back on again! Anyone else had this? I have to shut down Vyke to get the light back. It's an N73.
    thanks
