I did find the free texting on the Orange site eventually (30 messages a month) at the bottom left
http://www.orange.co.uk/emailandcommunicate/default.htm
not sure if you need to be an Orange customer for this though0 -
Hey,
Just searching around and found this site here which hasn't been included in Martins Free Texts article. Click here for it. Doesn't seem to have any restrictions listed on there regarding how many you can send etc. But you do need to sign up.Live for what tomorrow has to bring, not what yesterday has taken away0 -
Always cautious about signing up to these, what prevents the site spamming your phone number or other people you are calling? Not obvious from looking at privacy statements.0

Hi, I tried installing vyke pro onto my phone, nokia 6300 and it didn't install. Does this work or not on my phone.
Also I wanted to know if you send your message, does it send with your mobile id, so the receiver will know who is sending the text message? (Both Pro and Lite)
Also is the cost of the message all 1p even though the country you are texting is not the UK (Texting people with no vyke software installed) ?0 -
I could only install lite on my SE S700i so can only comment on that. It doesn't display your id, shows as +44777777. Text to someone in RoI cost 1p for wap access and 1p from my Vyke credit.
It's well worth it (for me) when texting that person, ok for other networks but not really worth it (for now) when I text someone else on Virgin.0 -

Hmm thats pretty stupid then. Having the caller ID as +44777777. I thought that this software can handle our own caller ID. What about the Pro version? Since I will use this for international texting so yeah, and it is a bit stupid sending a message with the wrong caller ID.0

It remembers what your last text was, so I always start my text with 'Please reply to xxxxxxxx'
That's the lite version
From what I've heard it shows your real number on pro, so I wish I could get that one...:(Haikus are easy
