August 2015 Grocery Challenge

Just gone mad and spent £34.99 at approved foods on bin bags, mars bars and stuff! Gone wild. Have adjusted signature. Am dangerous to leave with a screen unattended! However I have lots of stuffing for the coming December party season and cranberry sauce and, and, and, and, I could continue with my list of justifications endlessly.
Oops. Up to £183.99 now for august. This madness could take me £14 over for the month. Crazy living. All madness due to the over excitement of finishing picking blackcurrants last night.

Just back from a top up shopping trip which ended up costing me £24.55 after a £1.50 MOC. £3.45 of this was for some bits for DGD to make a carbonara this evening for her and her friends while her mum's out. May or may not get this back at the weekend but seriously doubt it (that's what mums/nans are for, LOL).
Total for month so far is just over £148/£250 so should be within budget as only another 10 days left for this month; and then on holiday for most of September.
Up to 10/20 NSDs but definitely not going to make it this month!

Yesterday was the first day of my fiscal fast, and I succeeded! No GC spends either, and ate from the freezer. I also froze some strawbs and blackberries ready for jams, crumbles, yoghurt etc.
Not sure what I'm eating today - more using up... I'm busy sorting out my house ready for car booting at the weekend, so I'll hopefully be too busy to go out.

Hi all.
At the moment we haven't technically soent any more GC money; it's my birthday today so my husband did buy stuff to make a treat dinner, but we have a separate budget saved up for birthday presents etc with plenty in it at the moment (we save it up throughout the year and dip into it when needed) so agreed to put this in here. Feel a bit guilty it's cheating though as he'll have plenty of leftover ingredients to help pad out the groceries...Part time working mum | Married in 2014 | DS born 2015 & DD born 2018

Not cheating at all, blue green!! That's like saying you'll buy yourself a telly for your birthday, but can't watch it after! Just my opinion, of course...!!
Nsd for me today, didn't leave the house, or even get dressed!! Lots of housework, bath, more housework and now vegging on the sofa. Have to go out tomorrow though, as working, and will need to break my fiscal fast briefly to get some wood shavings for the pig. Will only take that much money though.
Had fish and croquettes from the freezer for dinner tonight. Made a bit more space, not to fill, but to space stuff out! Talking of the freezer, I had a little brainwave today... I froze some milk into ice cubes, and used a few when making a cuppa! Milk is often going off at ours, and this could be a way of saving waste! Just enjoying a cuppa now, and it's ready to drink much quicker!

Belated birthday wishes :T
Had another NSD here today.
Dinner was HM sweet and sour pork (l/o joint from Sunday) with a stir-fry made with sliced scallions, broccoli florets, courgette strips and bean sprouts. I used a touch of olive oil with a touch of sesame oil for the fry - it was lovely. DH had egg-fried rice (freezer) with his.
Hope you all have a wonderful Wednesday
