Not good at all for a first month but on the positive side, I've tracked every penny and having started with empty freezers, we're now pretty well stocked.

nsd yesterday. so, august balance was £290, so bang on!! have signed up for £250 for September challenge.0
-
Late in, but our total for August came to £258.09 so not too bad!0
-
Bit late, but we had some last minute spends which brought our total up to £144.38 so slightly under budget and I'm happy enough with that.0

Finally got a bit of time today to finish tidying up my August accounts.
Offical budget was £253.10, and I 'spent' £265.00. I'm actually quite happy with that though, as it includes a £71.85 stock-up at Costc0, 2 days with 1 extra mouth, 2 days with 2 extra, 2 days with 3 extra and 4 days with 4 extra (so effectively fed 1 extra person for 4 weeks with nothing added to my budget for it), and (on Sunday 30th) a huge Whoopsie haul of meat and fish from Mr M which gives me 19 or 20 portions (£32.79 worth of goods for £10.75, and I account for the full value while splitting the savings between emergency funds and my 'wants not needs' spending pot).
Target for shop spends was £150, and I reached £169.71. That I'm especially happy with given the Costc0 shop (which I'd only allowed £45 for) and the unexpected Whoopsie haul right at the end of the month which accounted for almost £105 between them. Means I only spent £65 on general grocery trips, which included a reasonable spend on stuff for the week away with the extra mouths
My annual budget to the end of August was £1983.90 and I've spent £1787.70 of that, so I'm actually £196.20 under budget for the year so far (an average of almost 81p a day, which sounds a lot!). Of that I've actually only spent £934 in the shops (on goods worth £1247.30), so I've used up quite a lot of stock from around the house (£526.46 worth, though you wouldn't know it from just looking  )Cheryl0 -
My August total was £167.98 / £200 (#185). Realy pleased with that.

Just over two weeks into my challenge and were not doing too bad at all!
i have to say my cupboards are half as full as they usually are, but it does mean were using things up that could have been there this time next year!
(im not sure how this will impact on next monts budget but we will see).
Also DS has been dry for almost a week now so no more expensive pull ups to buyalso this will help with us reducing waste as we will soon be getting wheelie bins in our area.
Not really had time to do anymore coupon hunting but will sit and do some when the kids go back to school on monday!
have a nice weekend all x0
