Happy new year to you MT :)

I've just caught up with your diary, your posts are sounding a little happier, Im sorry I missed it when you could have done with a virtual hug - hope its not too late :grouphug:

I was surprised to see your moving plans. I you staying local or looking to relocate?

Got my fingers crossed for you on the job front.

I like the idea of small, reachable goals for new year resolutions. I hate it when I fail so am still thinking mine through - aside from emergency / moving fund which is a must.

    Have a nice weekend :)

    Hello Bellevie,

My moving plans are a bit undefined at the moment, which is quite deliberate. With everything that's been going on I feel I need a chance to properly regroup my head and figure out exactly what I really want. Although I'm very organised now in getting myself onto a path of where I want to go, I'd also like the opportunity to make sure that my plans aren't based on escaping certain aspects of my life (work mainly). So, I think I'll sell first and then figure out where to buy later.

Also, with my work situation, if I am made redundant I may need to stay local to London for the timebeing while I get my routine sorted with another company. Things like that are what are going through my head, but I really need to sell this house and get a fresh start.

I'm not thinking so much about resolutions, just that the end of a year always makes me think over the past year and I often find I'm still trudging towards the same results, without really getting anywhere.

I hope all is good with you and that your DD's cold has improved. I'll catch up with your diary shortly.

You're not far off there Rosa :D. I'm loving these bright colours and how easy it is to refer back to things I've written previously. It's working out better for me than any other journal I've written so far. I'm loving the focus it's giving me. MTxx

I have started using the new updated YNAB version, thanks to Rosa's recommendation. I've added all of my budgets, but am having some problems with my banking apps so struggling to keep on top of the finances. I'm going to have to make sure I go to a bank and get a couple of mini statements while I sort things out.

I took my phone in to Apple on Thursday and now have a replacement phone. I gave it a full backup so am happy that I have everything I need, but trying to log into a couple of banking apps has proven really difficult. I'm as sure as I can be that I'm using the correct details, but they just won't accept them. But to reset any details I need my phone to create a security code!!!! So, I'm now transferring all banking apps to my iPod, and will delete them from my phone.

NYE was lovely. I had a quiet night in, and didn't do a great deal more than watch TV. On New Year's day I drove up to a friend's house as she was having a little party and that was lovely. I ended up staying much later than anyone else as I've not seen this friend for so long so we just had a long catch up and it was the nicest way to see in a new year.

Yesterday I sat and wrote out more in my journal, and today I've been shopping for the essentials I needed, I've done my shop & scan and am about to have a tidy up and finish cleaning my oven. I soaked it all in oven cleaner yesterday and my oven racks are in a bag so I'm hoping all the grime will come off quite easily.

It's so bleak out that I've lit all of my candles in the living room and put on my colour changing lamp. It's so cosy in here now.

I think the rest of my day will be full of reading and finding a few more bits and pieces for charity shops.

    Have a lovely day.

  • Hello lovely lady. It's bleak here too today. I started with a cold yesterday and I'm not feeling in the mood to do much apart from catch up with diaries. I might try and take the tree down later though so it's boxed away ready to take with me.

It looks like we could both be in for an imminent move soon. I'm still excited so that's good. Have you thought anymore about buying somewhere with the chance to have a business attached. I think I remember you mentioning that.

In the last couple of days I've started sorting through drawers and I'm shocked about how much stationery I have. I've always been the same since I was young and always had a desk of some kind. I've not had one in this house so that will be my little goal just for me in the new place.

Sending you lots of virtual hugs.

  • Evening Gorgeous ... Right then 2016 is our year ..

Your New Years Eve sounded wonderful! :)

I'm all about list making this evening.

My debt has gone up (!) gawd knows how... but going to just spin the mood and make myself more keen to get it down.

My place is clean but 2 drawers could do with a declutter...:P

Sorted the wardrobe and have a box of clothing items to flog although my wardrobe is pretty empty.

Cut my own hair in the end ..lol ( just a trim )

Hopefully only a few months and my debt will be gone.

Hope you hear some good news at work soon - must be so unsettling for you.

    Hello Tink,

Yes, I do want a home with a business attached and that's still my focus, but with everything going on with work I may have to put that on hold for a little while as that home would be too far from London for me to commute. So many options at the moment that I can't go with until I know more about my current work situation.

I'm so excited for your move too. I hope something comes up soon that's perfect for you and your DD.

From one stationery fiend to another, isn't it great finding those things you forgot about? I've got way too much, but I know I won't part with any. It's like my little addiction.

Thank you for the virtual hug. Sending one back to you too. You've been so strong.

So lovely to hear from you Sam. I miss you when you're not here. Although your debt may have gone up, it's still more than doable when you think of how you started off in 2015. Congratulate yourself a bit there.

I'm so jealous of you only having 2 drawers to declutter! I guess that's the push I need to get working on my clutter again today!

Back to our normal routines again! Ho Hum! :D
