I'm struggling to sleep tonight, so here I am! :)

Friday at the studio went well. My new trainee was on the desk and, other than little mistakes, it all went really well. So he'll do the request show for the foreseeable future, until he's ready for his own show. I then did my own show, and loved it. It works well having those 2 shows most weeks.

I then drove up to meet my friend on Saturday. It was also our Christmas get together so we had little presents for each other too. We both did very well, and her gifts to me were all in line with how I'm trying to live and stay out of clutter now.

I got home yesterday and managed to catch up on all of my clothes washing and other minor bits of housework so later today, hopefully after another little sleep, I'll either do some intense cleaning or more decluttering. Maybe even both! :D

Financially I'm a bit lost. I changed around all of my YNAB categories for this new version and have lost myself a little. So I'll also sit and organise my head there too. More journal writing I think!

I haven't written in my journal for a week and can really feel it. This week went well, and I guess I felt I didn't need it so much, but I can feel a loss of focus.

Work feels so much better now that things are heading towards a good path for me. I need a little more focus there too so that I can make sure it all works out the best way possible. I'm feeling confident that I'm not about to lose my job, but until my new role is made official I'll still live carefully, just in case.

I think that's me all caught up! :D I wish everyone a lovely week and happy frugal living! ;)

Thank you Sam. It's a nice feeling having put the worst of last year behind me, regarding work. I'll be along to your diary shortly for a little catch up on your news. MTxx

YNAB all up to date and synching well with what my bank accounts say. I've decided this year that I want to pretend I have accommodation costs as now my regular saver is maturing I'm worrying that I'll fritter money away without realising. I have still been saving just under what I used to pay for my mortgage, but I want to increase that if my salary is stable now.

I also updated some category names in YNAB so that I can see where the money is. I currently have 6 bank accounts :D, so need to make sure that when I buy things on budget, that it gets taken from the correct place. I think it could also be time to look at those bank accounts, as some were opened for the switch bonus so I may need to close some now I've met their rules and criteria. :p

For some odd reason I decided to give my washing machine a good clean yesterday and when I pulled back rubber seal around the door and there's black mold in there!!!!! So I freaked out a bit!!!! I've managed to get a lot of it off, but as there only seems liquid spray bottle stuff to treat it, all the spray just drips down to the bottom!!!! They need a gel!!! So I've soaked kitchen towel in black mold remover and have pushed that around the edge of the seal to see if I can soak it all off that way. My eyes are red and sore today, and I think that's due to the either the fumes from the spray, or the mold itself!!! Eek! :(

Still two more weeks until pay day!!! I really dislike January! It's so cold, money is tight, all the christmas decorations are gone and it's a LOOOOONG wait for pay day! :)

    Happy Tuesday everyone. MTxx

    All sounds good MT :T

I love January - I know I may be in a minority here :o:D. The materialism madness of Christmas is over, I've seen loved ones over the holidays, it's perfect weather for just relaxing and either people watching in coffee shops or curling up with a book under the duvet. Plus I do take the opportunity for reviewing my situation and making plans, and that together with spring coming means I always feel there's a great sense of energy building. So I say, to everything a season :)

You're so right Rosa, I'm just struggling this month to feel good. I think there are a few reasons for that, and I'm wondering if I need to face one of those reasons, which is Mr 3TL as I think unresolved issues are starting to niggle at me.

Your view on January is perfect! MTxx

I've checked my accounts and have received my £30 cashback for swapping from British Gas to British Gas!!!! My tarriff tie in had just ended when I saw the cashback for their cheaper tarriff so I sorted that out and now have an extra £30 to get me through the month! Yay to unexpected paydays!

Other accounts are looking reasonable, and I just have one weekend to get through, where I have very little money but very little that I need to buy. On Monday I did a small shop, but that means I have a scan and receipt for my Shop & Scan so won't lose out there. Luckily my regular saver money won't be available until after payday so no dipping risks there!!! ;)

Today I'm going to look at booking training at work for my new role. This will give me a full UK qualification in this area, which I can upgrade to International myself if I decide to. So while I'm really happy about feeling more secure and being given a job switch, I have also been thinking a lot about long term life goals and am still yearning for my own little lifestyle business, so I need to keep that in mind too. Fortunately, my new job role will be a massive boost for my lifestyle business wish so I can't lose here. :)

House decluttering is going well, but not fast enough. I have 2 free days to myself this weekend, so I need a list! :D

Eating habits are also not where they should be (she says after eating a chocolate chip cookie for breakfast!!!). So, operation Get It Sorted starts today!

    I need a plan!

Happy Hump Day to all you lovely people.

So pleased to hear that work is getting better, well done you for talking to the boss straight up, sometimes avoiding the irritant and going to the top is the best way! Also great news on the qualification!

I believe choc chip cookies are part of a balanced breakfast so no worries there! Hope you can work out the niggles with mr 3tl!

    Hi there Muffintop

I've been reading your thread and thought it was time to say hello.
Lots in common as I need to declutter and this year I will be mortgage free but not debt free...
I love what you say in your first post and I'm aiming for my pot of gold (or more accurately working out what that would like exactly)
I'm single and like that most of the time in the same way married people like that sometimes too?

Hope you don't mind if I pop over to your thread and post sometimes?

Thank you Jodles16. Can I get away with eating the other 2 cookies for lunch? :o

Speaking to the new Director seems to have created a good atmosphere between he and I. I've just requested 3 training courses for this year, so hopefully I'll get those and will be UK qualified in my chosen field. I can then take an oral exam to become internationally qualified if I choose to, although I'll have to pay for that myself as it won't be a job required qualification. I just like the idea that it will give me points towards International Domination! :p. Maybe I need to look at how many points that would actually give me before I make a decision.

I'm not sure how to sort out Mr 3TL. My heart wants him back but my head punches my heart in the throat for thinking that!!! :D He's been contacting me a fair amount recently and always very complimentary and nice, but he acts like nothing happened between us. Nothing good and nothing bad! It's making me feel very insignificant, to be honest. So while I don't know what to do I'm doing nothing. Feeling so insignificant is really affecting my confidence.
