I wanted one of those life-size baby dolls from Woolworths which came naked and you dressed it in real baby clothes. I got one too, along with a selection of my little cousin's cast-off baby clothes. The doll was a very unnatural orangey colour, but I loved her, and still have her nearly 50 years later

I have 2 sisters one is 2 years younger and one is 9 years younger, we used to dress up our little sister and put make up on her do her hair etc because we didn't get a girl's world. I also wanted Mousetrap but it was too expensive for the birthday budget. One thing I really wanted and eventually got was a Spirograph, I loved it.0 -

I looked at Mousetrap at Christmas, thinking that my 4 year old would love it, but it was really poorly made compared to the 70s version. Parts that were plastic are now cardboard - and the poor reviews reflect its cheap and flimsy construction. I mentioned it to my Mum who then replied that mine was still in her cupboard. So my little girl gets to play with my original, 70s Mousetrap ....... but only if Mummy can play too

I really really wanted one of those toy tree houses with the little people inside, and they had a dog too I think. You could push a button on the top and it would spring open upwards and reveal different rooms inside. I never got it for some reason.
