A Barbie (they were only available in USA in those days)
    Cadburys chocolate dispenser.
    A bride doll.
    Pink underskirt.

Not all in the same year! Just about over the disappointment now.

I wanted an Etch-a-Sketch and did eventually get one! A few years ago, I saw one at a car boot sale but unfortunately I didn't have enough cash on me at the time to buy it.

A Girl's World! The one with the awful turquoise eye shadow that was 'in' in the 70's. My cousin played with it all of Christmas Day but I didn't mind as I played with his 'Eagle-Eyed' Action-Man lol.

I grew up in the 60s, born 57, and things were so different, I don't really remember ever wanting anything that badly.

We seemed to spend most of the time outside climbing trees, cycling, fishing and messing about on the river etc.

I had the usual Corgi and Dinky cars a train set and Scalextric.

Having taken early retirement along with a couple of friends I/we have to some extent regressed. We have just started building a Scalextric circuit, making our own by routing MDF boards ready for those long cold winter days, several 8x4 sheets were delivered on Thursday. :D

Fortunately Toad Hall has some large out buildings that give us somewhere to work and play.

A Scalextric car arrived via eBay yesterday :j

I'm also keeping an eye open for a Mamod steam engine because I never had one. I'm also a fan of Lego Technic and have a bit lying around.

There are so many great toys, old and new.

They're can be the basis of some great winter hobbies when it isn't always pleasant to be outside. At the moment we're doing summer stuff, cycling, walking and other outdoor stuff plus I spend a fair bit of time on the boat but when you no longer work there's a lot of time to fill and to be honest life is great.
One by one the penguins are slowly stealing my sanity.
