2 1/2 lb loss this week.
Jess, my OH likes nothing better than putting on an item of clothing she used to find a bit tight but is now loose on her. Instead of asking "does this look too tight" she now asks "do you think this is too big for me". It's a great way to gauge success too, as you may be toning up and building a bit of muscle.
Syman, do you track all your walking during the day? If so, what are you using to do it? I only use Map My Walk just now but dont activate it until I'm going walking or if I know what I'm doing at work will involve walking over a mile. It would be good to see what I'm actually covering per day, but would like something better than a basic step counter.
I did try to work it out from your earlier screenshots, but wasn't able to.0 -
Hi Roland,
I have 2 mobile phones on me all day. the screen shot is from my work phone (using win 8 mobile) uses Microsoft health and fitness to count steps, this can link the your home PC. My personal phone, on android i use noom.
The readings invariably differ so i take an average of the two.
Noom, is a better all round app as it can do much more, such as meal logging, calorie usage and so on, but can be a bit of a battery drain.Never put off till tomorrow what you can do today!
Cos if you do it today and like it...You can do it again tomorrow..

Ideal, I'd not went with a phone app as a stepper incase it didnt distinguish between my actual walking and perhaps when I was travelling in a vehicle. An app I'd used a year or so back logged a walk I done at work and the next time I used it, it transported me in a straight line to where I was and made it look like I'd walked miles in seconds. (different style app though).
I'd never thought about an average either. I've a work I phone and my own Android phone with me most of the time, so I'll get a hold of Noom and an Apple app too.
Cheers.0 -

Hi all, I would like to join please! I have been dieting since May and have lost 2st 7lbs in that time so very happy with that. I am, however, going on my hols next week so will be putting some back on but will go straight back on upon my return on 21/9 so thought If I go on here that will keep my motivation going!
Thank you and good luck all.x0 -

Noom I believe is available on Apple.
I do not really have a problem with the car as during my normal day to day life I rarely need it. However, on the occasions I have used the car I have not really noticed any unusual results.
The other thing I did was to ensure the reading was zero, then counted my steps for a set distance. you need to do it 4 or 5 times, but you can then get a feel for how accurate the count is. In general mine was within 2 or 3%. If I do a long planned walk, then I use Noom's tracker using GPS. I have used map my walk too, but prefer noom. Just a personal preference as they are quite similar.
Sy..Never put off till tomorrow what you can do today!
