At best your personal information could be spread across numerous other companies.
At worst it could be used for fraudulent access to your accounts, along with identity fraud.
Thanks. Well in my case they're welcome to my overdraft, but can see why it would matter to others. We're all pretty findable on google these days, eg any potential burglar could easily find when I'm out without much trouble so I don't have any great fears - I'm not important or rich enough! I will keep my registration to this, it shows slightly different info to Noddle so interesting.0 -
I'm guessing that when you sign up to this you're giving them carte blanche to do what they like with the information you've provided. I wouldn't took it with a barge pole.0

Nope there is a privacy policy and legally they can't do what they want.
Thanks for making us aware of the risks but I think you're suffering from paranoia if you think they have "carte blanche".
Your choice of course.0 -

"Let's start with your email" they say. This is followed by "We'll email you later this week with instructions to get your completely free credit score and report. "
A joke or what?0 -

It has a "Agree button " to say I agree with their terms, which I didn't accept, and until I do, no doubt this will keep appearing on screen.
I wont be using any third party Credit Agency with my Data. It's bad enough the Big 3 having it, and having to pay to access it.At least Noddle is owned by Callcredit
.In my opinion, there should be only one central Credit Agency, free at the point of use.
There is no need for More, competition does not make for a better service, only more abuse of our data, to make more profit.
Why should we have to buy 3 reports , with varying results, to see what's happening to our Data.? Not one of them really update their/our records as they should, it should be compulsory, or fined, held to account.0 -
The privacy policy:
https://www.clearscore.com/privacy-policy/
See 4.3.4 and 4.3.6. These items can be summarised as "carte blanche".
Overall it's as I thought; in a nutshell they can do whatever they want with your data and make it available to just about anyone.0 -
It would be good to see their privacy policy. But have you tried to sign up?
"Let's start with your email" they say. This is followed by "We'll email you later this week with instructions to get your completely free credit score and report. "

I seem to recall that Noddle were like this when they first started the service. They restricted the number of registrations so that they could scale their IT systems. It's not an unusual approach to a startup with a system that is probably still in beta. More recently the Supercard restricted the number of signs ups and when Barclays introduced their bPay last year they limited numbers.
Personally I will stick to Noddle as they are owned by CallCredit and to the £2 statutory report for the others. I am assuming that this new providers business model will be based on selling loans and credit cards.0 -
These items can be summarised as "carte blanche".
For example I don't think they can use it to take out a loan on your behalf.
It is absolutely not a "blank cheque" in the literal term.
You are entitled to your views.
I think your are unjustifiably paranoid (and I'm not ignorant of the issues) adn thorwing around unjustifiable terms.0 -
Can you define what you mean by "carte blanche".
For example I don't think they can use it to take out a loan on your behalf.
It is absolutely not a "blank cheque" in the literal term.
You are entitled to your views.
I think your are unjustifiably paranoid (and I'm not ignorant of the issues) adn thorwing around unjustifiable terms.
I got this from Wiktionary:
carte blanche: Unlimited discretionary power to act; unrestricted authority
I would say that's a reasonably close description of the capabilities they give themselves with regard to your data.
I'm not paranoid. I just don't want some shabby start-up having what a amounts to a complete picture of my finances and other personal information. They would have a bigger picture than even the CRAs. You might as well just post it all on the internet!0 -
Unknown 3rd party company with no history.
Privacy policy you could drive a fleet of buses though.
No track record of keeping your data safe.
Untrue statements on their website saying they are on the online FCA register as authorised.
Stinks to high heaven.Still rolling rolling rolling......<
