PAYG/Monthly Data hungry, alternative to big suppliers

LOLZ!
EE has "invented" a way as how to raise money. Where's OFCOM?
Unfortunately its only the contracts (be it 30 day rolling), that offer decent data amounts,
But if not my needs- would I not wave middle finger to EE and ANY other contract?
Contracts are legalized traps and EE is in premier league with it0 -
It's back to the drawing board for me Atasas. Tello turned out to be a dud for me due to signal issues.
I still fancy moving away from Giffgaff, which leaves me with any other MVNO that runs on either the O2 or Vodafone network. I considered Talk mobile but 4G has become more important to me since I last discussed it.0 -

TBH , in circumstances, next best is TalkMobile, but you are very much narrowed down for MVNO's, having excluded many, using EE(BT) network, whilst O2 is significantly slowed down and VodaFunks don't share network sensibly-easily with other businesses(MVNO's)...0 -
Fair enough and very understandable !

Apart from the poor coverage and WiFi calling app, the Tell set up was good. So if Three boost the signal in my area, I will be more than happy to consider Tell again.
EE coverage is also unsatisfactory in my area. Happy to reconsider if boosted.
On the basis of what you have said, I can see no harm in giving Talkmobile a blast.
Also as a backup how would you rate O2 Pay & Go, Tesco mobile pay as you go and Lyca mobile pay as you go? As these are the only networks left for me to consider as far as I know.0 -

"Devil in detail"- all areas are affected differently to different networks users (also at different times), hence I can not be adamant, that'll be the case for you.

I believe O2 has rather good network coverage, but network retailed to MVNO's as GiGaf, truly slows down data speeds. As is PAYG data on original O2 is priced as rip off. In general, O2 as a business given me impression not to be much fairer than to say as Vodashmuks or endless traps making EE.

Tesco- I didn't "test ride"- no opinion...
(should've) as their coverage allows tethering (or just changed recently), but price for data (PAYG/30Day SIM) is almost as expensive as O2, but unsure if Tesco SIMS would be throttled down as GfGaf

Lyca tested and have been shocked by joke of an support and general feedback on quality of CS, at the time their plans where very dear for data and most importantly they don't allow tethering
http://www.lycamobile.co.uk/en/bundles
(Lebara using VodaFk network), but doesnt allow tethering and although on of the older/'st MVNO's never seemed to be getting their act sorted to be recommended to use.
No wander, I am ever so cheesed of with OFCOM for allowing BT "merger", as it seems you and I are looking for decent service , value and coverage, but its like minefield to navigate through to get half decent one without major compromise or getting caught in a trap of a contract of some sort of rogues0 -

Well perhaps I could test Tesco Mobile and report my findings on here so you can update your list and help the wider community.
Last time i checked O2 Pay & Go and Tesco pay as you go it appears they are both on the same priority tier of an O2 mast so data speed should be identical (both better than giffgaff but below O2 pay monthly).
You can earn clubcard points with Tesco mobile. Whilst with O2 you can earn 10% of your top ups back every three months.
Customer service costs 20p per call with Tesco whilst O2 is free as long as you dial from the number that's concerned. O2 has won customer service accolades and has ranked year after year as the number one for customer service with Ofcom. Tesco mobile customer service may be subcontracted to O2 which would be a bonus.
Tethering is not an salient issue for me at the moment but that may change of I get a secondary device such as a tablet.
Choice of three tariffs with O2.
Big bundles: Exchange your credit for a monthly allowance (30 day bundle).
Simple/classic pay as you go: Keep your credit and also receive a selection of free data, texts and O2 to O2 minutes.
International: Keep your credit plus get cheaper international rates and also get a free selection of UK only data, O2 to O2 minutes and texts each month.
Plus additional bolt ons. Extra data, minutes and texts available to buy in small amounts.
Also O2 Priority Rewards.
Two choices of tariffs for Tesco mobile.
Rocket bundles: Exchange your credit for a bundle each month.
Triple your credit: Top up a minimum of £10 and get that credit tripled. On top of that you also can choose a free allowance of texts, minutes or data.0 -

So far, thinking and cursing and due to no acceptable value deals I did avoid those too... Could be a bit dearer, but solution for some?
Does o2 allow own data tethering?
Much obligated!0 -

very promising, will have to check, research on it when get a minute0 -

Ordered last Tue, had confirmation, seemed too good to be truth... hasn't arrived:(
For a month or so, could have been good to test run, as there are no more sensible alternatives lately (big mobile usage, with allowed tethering)
Anyway, anybody have one, any feedback?
Thanks!0 -

Had my SIM for a while, inserted it today only... my bad! :P
On-line- no top up, registration etc- nothing!, must call 2732 and got answered withing 3 prompts, registered, toped up and offer "MEGA" (20GB+ Unl Mins +Unl Txt's) no probs and girl on the other end sounded ever so pleasant.
Will need to dial 2732 to check my allowances- not a biggy (as TBH most PAYG networks), so far seems to be good service and value as long as it lasts (31/12/2016).
Would I recommend it?- YES! speed seems to be as good as EE (no "throttling" like O2 MVNO's get, decent amount of data for a £10'er);
what is bad?- unsure as how value will stack up, without offer or new ones will take place..
Cheers!0
