Estate agents trolled this thread because i want to sell private?

  • I'm wondering if there are some estate agents posting here that have a problem with my exploring the possibility of a private sale.

The level of hatred here is inexplicable, as is the way only 1 person actually understood the OP. Nobody is really that dumb, so l can only conclude you are playing dumb and have vested interests.
  • Let me repeat: I believe some estate agents are trolling this thread because in the OP l mentioned the possibility of selling my house privately.

As a result, they are giving sarcastic responses, pretending not to understand the OP, pretending they are insulted where there has been no insult, and pouring scorn on every post l make on this thread. There is no history between us.

I simply made a thread about selling a house via estate agent vs. directly seller-to-buyer. The response was as stated above, to derail the thread any which way.
  • Notice how post #11, which earnestly attempted to answer the simple questions asked, got zero thanks (except from myself), while inflammatory posts got multiple thanks. Seems to me this thread was hijacked by an army of flamers with clearly vested interests :)

Just a thought, but maybe you should log off and go lie down in a darkened room.

Tomorrow you might actually read the posts and see there is nothing but answers aimed to help you OP.

Yes, all the EAs came on this thread because they don't want you to sell privately. They'd like you to sell through them. I mean, you've told them that your property is in England, what more would they need to know right?
  • I'm not the one flaming and trolling.

I'm being perfectly fine and anybody without vested interests will be able to see that.

Also, I obviously never at any point said that EAs posting here want me as a customer in real life. Reductio ad absurdam - logical fallacy.

You are deliberately missing the point. And underlining my point in posts #28-#30.

Look, if you read that actual post, you'd see that l was asking for elaboration on:

    1. What fees types are incurred for selling (l explained later that l live in England)
    2. The nature of those fees - i.e. what are they for?
    3. The amount of those fees - approximately. For example, will Land Registry Fees be in the £100s or £1000s, less than £500? Less than £80?

If you are not going to help, then leave it.

I know very well how to approach valuers, but the debate regarding that was: do l approach a surveyor or a valuer or both? And what would be a fair price?

Once again, all l want is answers to my questions. Nowhere did l ask which valuer to Google. I am aware of Google.
look if you'd read the answers from earlier responses you'd have noted

    1. fees depend on location, England is not specific enough to give anything other than meaningless sweeping generalisations such as you have already received £500 - £5,000
    2. EA fees, solicitor fees, funds transfer fees, land registry fees
    3. get a quote from an EA, get a quote from a solicitor, google land registry fees as there is a comprehensive price list readily available for those who look

you state you know how to approach valuers yet you don't know that a valuer is a surveyor? Hence I provided a link to RICS where you can get a quote from surveyors specialising in valuations who know your location. However as others said earlier when selling you don't need a professional valuer, you need an EA who gives you whatever valuation you want: quick sale, middle market, top market, come and look price open to offers etc. All of which are, of course, dependent on precise location.

as for your assertion that respondents to date (with one obvious exception) are EAs :rotfl:
  • Run along now there's a good little boy. It's way past your bedtime :j

Seems like you say that a lot :) . Cheerio.

    Look.

The categories of fees involved won't vary within England even if the actual amounts do.

Also, l was asking for a comprehensive list of categories, to wit: the ones i was told i would have to pay, but a further breakdown of what the more vague categories actually entail, e.g. land registry fees (which btw you've omitted to mention).

Anyway, really, i'm done with this thread. I'm only here to talk house sales. Therefore there is nothing keeping me here.
