I know there must be a recipe somewhere but I've not found it yet. I'd be interested in it too. In the meantime, if you boil and mash them they freeze really well. They're one of my standbys in the freezer when I cba to cook from scratch.
Healing vibes for your foot Jazee, your soul Valli and you, CY.
Congratulations on two months today, FBO. :balloons:
They're building the stage and perimeter fencing on the Hoe for MTV Crashes next week. The entire Hoe except for a very hilly section, the putting green and the boules terrain will be shut, thus upsetting every single dogwalker in Plymouth. I've also discovered they're shutting most of the roads with car parking on them on the Hoe so that'll tee off pretty much everyone else around here.
Hobnobs made, tidying, tidying, tidying, stuff got down from the attic to go to the CS, er, lots more done but I can't remember it.Better is good enough.0 -
CY hope it passes soon, thinking of you x
I've done loads in next doors garden and it looks so much better.
Going to bung some lamb in the aga with a bit of rosemary and the give the floor a quick hoover and mop. Ironing later and bathroom cleaning tomorrow.
Oh just remembered DH should be landing soon so he'll be home tonight. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -

I find sweet potatoes don't make particularly good fries or roasties because of their high water content, but I often just scrub them, leave the skins on, slice and roast with other veg (sliced onions, courgettes, tomato, parsnips even) without par-boiling first - just a little oil in the roasting tray, or use a one-calorie spray oil such as Fry1!ght.
I have been very bad and had a lazy day today, despite having lots to do. DH is out playing trains for the third time this week, and - apart from doing WMx2 and cleaning the floors all through downstairs, which were finished well before 11.00 - I have just sat and read a book
Now that I need to get back into working mode, the sun has moved round and is streaming into the study bedroom, so I am sitting here wearing a ridiculous green plastic foam eyeshade which I picked up for about £1 at a craft shop  Perhaps I'll just go out and do a bit of gardening instead, for now, and do the work this evening when DH will be out at wargaming. Decision, decisions...
Aaargh!!!! I've just realised how dirty this window is on the inside, so I'll clean it at once - otherwise the streak that I've put across it with my finger will annoy me every time I look up at the flying bird outline on the outside (several young starlings and jackdaws have tried to fly through the pane this summer).
[Potters off to find window cleaning stuff...]0 -
I've scrubbed the front steps and path again and fed the baby seagull old dog food that I've had in the freezer for quite a while. (I did defrost i,t first but the idea of a baby seagull with a bent beak made me smile.) I found it dragging it's water bowl around this afternoon. Not sure what that's about.
I have raspberries ripening on the canes I bought from a promotion on MSE and have in pots on the sundeck. Very chuffed.Better is good enough.0 -
SCHOOLS OUT FOR SUMMER!!!

Phew! Kids are goosed...Bossymoo
Away with the fairies :beer:0 -
Found a bit more motivation and part-blitzed the kitchen. Will save floor mopping till after I've cooked dinner I think.
DW emptied.
Lots of paperwork decluttered from kitchen, although still more to go; it doesn't usually get this bad.
Booked in/organised survey paperwork.
Just been up the road cherry picking - a tree by the side of the road 20m up from us has lovely cherries. We're a bit too late to get loads - other villagers and birds have beaten us to it! Mr N reminded me we still have one bag in freezer from last year...........anyway it's cherries and ice cream for tea I'd say.
CY glad to see you waving. Hope nausea passes quickly.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.0 -
Evening all. Finally finished the paid stuff for nearly two weeks, I am worn out.
Managed to get to docs, pay in cheques, get meds for me and OldDog, buy biscuits for bowls tomorrow, cancelled the milk, sorted out keys for hols and did a very long day of paid stuff.
Lasagne for tea became spag bol and wasn't very nice. So I've popped to shops and got some sweets as a treat.
Tomorrow, I need to prep as much as I can for holiday, do shopping lists, hoover and mop through, try to get out in the garden and do bowls in the afternoon. DH wants to go for a meal in the evening which is fine with me.
Have a nice evening everyone. See you tomorrow.Spend less now, work less later.0
