I didn't realise they credit-check potential clients:o. My credit score is in the very poor category (or whatever the worst level is called:o) and I still have loads of debt but have never missed a payment on the DMP since spring 2013.
Also, however desperate I was in the pre-DMP days I never missed a utility payment so maybe my chance might be reasonable if I wanted to switch.
Am happy where I am at the moment, have got a lower price from my current supplier and £10 a month off my DD but will bear it in mind for when my current contract ends:T.
I think in terms of credit scores many of us DMPers are in the 'worst it can be' score bracket, so yes big relief when they accepted me, although I'd already decided I had nothing to lose by applying, since there is only me would know if I got refused and I already know my credit score is pants:rotfl:Debt -it's a fight that I'm winning, dealing with debt one day at a time.
Estimated DFD August 2018 - 2031 - now 2027 :T

Just to add my 2pen'th about Noodle. If takes several months for some of the creditors to catch up, but as a long term view of where my credit is sitting, like the mortgage and the secured loan, it's been second to none.Debt -it's a fight that I'm winning, dealing with debt one day at a time.

Same here, still a bit worried I might end up having 2 payments in one month as it's been cold this month and my useage will be over the payment, but see what happens.
Hi Sazzie
I am having 2 payments in one month for my energy
Old supplier collected on 1st and new supplier collecting on 23rd (Monday).
I have money due back from old supplier but it won't arrive for a couple of week apparently. I did have £100 in my emergency fund....transferred it tonight to cover the double energy payment in one month and will put it back when the refund comes from old supplier.
Fingers crossed for you that you don't have this situation.DFW Nerd No. 1484 LBM 07/01/15 Debt was £95k  Now debt free and happy :j0 -
Just to let folks know, I went through the MSE Energy Club to switch my supplier. Like I said, I was worried we wouldn't be accepted because of credit status, but it has gone through with no problem.
As Sazzie says - nothing to lose by applying. Worst that can happen is you have to stick with your existing supplier. However, I don't see why anyone should have to pay extortionate rates for gas and electricity just because they have debt problems.DFW Nerd No. 1484 LBM 07/01/15 Debt was £95k  Now debt free and happy :j0 -
One of our debts has been passed to a DCA - all fine and dandy
Got a letter today offering us a 25% reduction in the amount payable to settle the debt in full:eek:
OMG, how I wish we had the money to accept this offer - unfortunately we don't and so continuing with monthly DMP payments is all we can do - but it gives me hope that if we manage to save anything towards full and finals (aka partial and finals;)) they will be open to negotiation on the amount.

Anxiously awaiting pay day. Couldn't afford to get the car fixed so basically keeping our fingers crossed that the darn thing starts. OH has taken the poker from the fireplace to hit the starter motor with in the event of an emergency! It was OK today but who knows what tomorrow will bring. Only a few more days to debt freedom so that will be something to celebrate. Can't wait.DMP Mutual Support Thread No. 421
