Sorry but I must step in to Noddle's defence :o.

Brogden, good for you for sticking up for Noddle:T. I personally found them very lacking (and not just in the accounts that weren't reported as I appreciate that Experian, Equifax and them hold different information) and would never take what they tell me as accurate now. Sorry, but that's just my own opinion after personal experiences with them:(.

I'm really pleased that they fit the bill for you and also that your work credit check went well:beer:. It's always scary when we have to be credit-checked isn't it?

Being credit checked IS an absolute nightmare  !!

Even going back quite a lot of years when I didn't have a DMP'ers credit file I hated it. For some reason it just makes me squirm.......all of that information about you.....horrible. That's why I am going to keep visiting Noddle now rather than be fearing something that I'm too scared to look at :o.

I am breathing a sigh of relief on the jobs thing. It's alright everybody saying 'I have a carp credit file but it doesn't matter because I don't want to apply for any credit.' It's when it comes round to affecting our ability to earn a living that the real problems can come along.

Please don't anybody worry or get upset by what I am saying - we just have to do what we have to do and all can be fine......it was for me. Horrible feeling going through it though :(.

CBC - I hear what you are saying about Noddle. I am thinking the whole reporting of financial data to CRA's is a complete pigs breakfast. I do not think Noddle (CallCredit) is worse though. I really think that the problems you are having are the fault of the predators rather than Noddle. Complain to them like I am doing :)

Wise words of reassurance about credit-checking, Brogden:T

I don't think it was the predators at fault in my case and I don't think it's worth contacting them again as I already did it and they told me the current state of play with that debt and that N was at fault:(

My query was about incorrect information on my file from a specific lender, let's call it bank x. I contacted Noodle by their online contact procedure to see if they could throw any light on what was going on. No response whatsoever until a full 3 weeks later when I received a letter by snail mail from N. This is where it gets interesting as in the letter they said that they had contacted the lender and the said lender could not do anything about the situation. This is hardly surprising as N had contacted the wrong bank (let's call it bank y) and not bank x that I have dealings with:(. I have never had any financial dealings with bank y. At first I thought that maybe with amalgamations etc bank x may in some way be part of bank y but they have absolutely no connection with each other either in being under the same 'umbrella' or in using the same DCAs

The information about my query/complaint that was contained in the letter from N was so vague and I suspect that they not only contacted the wrong lender but they asked them to investigate the wrong problem;).
  • Self Managed payment day !! Over 30% paid now. Slowly slowly ....

Re above, I find Noddle OK for a free service. I had a linked address on my file with them which was absolutely nothing to do with me and they removed it without any hassle. All my info on it is pretty accurate.

But my credit rating is never going to bother me again so doesn't really matter.

    Frustrating!
My new bank haven't yet sent me a cheque book (despite ordering twice a month ago!) and I need to send my £1 token payments for this month (Dmp starts next month) does anyone know if I can send postal orders?

I didn't realise banks still issued cheque books. Postal orders will cost you additional money. When I made token payments I either did it through online banking or phoned and paid using my card details.

Great news - notified we have been accepted by new energy supplier. Old one was going to put up monthly DD by £40 :( New one is more than we were paying, but nowhere near that much of an increase.

I was panicking we would not get through any credit check for the new supplier but it seems to have gone through without a hitch. Happy days :)

Same here, still a bit worried I might end up having 2 payments in one month as it's been cold this month and my useage will be over the payment, but see what happens.

  • Great news about being accepted by a new energy supplier, January and Sazzie:T

I didn't realise they credit-check potential clients:o. My credit score is in the very poor category (or whatever the worst level is called:o) and I still have loads of debt but have never missed a payment on the DMP since spring 2013.

Also, however desperate I was in the pre-DMP days I never missed a utility payment so maybe my chance might be reasonable if I wanted to switch.

Am happy where I am at the moment, have got a lower price from my current supplier and £10 a month off my DD but will bear it in mind for when my current contract ends:T.
