I won!!!!! (2nd place actually)
But my play came second in the competition (OK there were only 14 entries, it was a local comp.) and I won £75.
I'm SO chuffed.
And so inspired, I've almost got my pen & paper out again:rotfl: :rotfl:0 -
Congratulations OliveOyl!!! Well deserved I'm sure and very inspiring for the rest of us.
I delivered my entry to the Lady last week (postal strike meant I couldnt post it), and am now looking for another competition to enter. Has anyone spotted a short story or other writing comp with a good prize?
Any news on your cunning plan?Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620 -
Congratulations OliveOyl, well done. :T
And well done to you too Seaxwyn for getting your story finished and sent off - good luck!"I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250 -

Thanks everyone for your support. The sad thing is my prize money was needed to pay Popeye's excess baggage the next day when he left! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
But as for further comps. I've been using the more writing link that was given further back in this thread. There's a channel 4 commission with a prize of £90,000......:rotfl: plenty of excess baggage there.
Though I'm not doing the short story bit, I'm dreaming of being a playwright. Eric Morecambe style so far lol but I think there are more comps on that site, I'll have a look.0 -

Sparkly
Saw this again in my library today...prizes are small (family cinema tickets) but apparently they are giving loads away
