What a fab idea! I'll have a think! Some places do writing courses for evening class and I've always wondered...also always wanted to write a book and short story is a good place to start!Nerd no 109 Long haulers supporters DFW #1! Even in the darkest moments, love and hope are always possible.0

I've wondered about writing courses too, but I'm a bit worried that if I was too busy concentrating on doing it 'correctly', I might not be able to think of any good stories!"I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250

Hello All.
On and off for a decade i have ben trying to write an epic novel in my head, and am about to start.
Along with going back to college part time, one of the courses i am starting is about creative writing.
I write a lot of poetry, and am always getting people asking me to write things for them.
I recently got asked to write a little verse for a girl's little boy, as his dad had prematurely passed away, and the girls at work had decided to buy him a star, from his dad.
My latest request is having to write a poem as part of a vbest man's speech which has to be sweet, funny, but very relevant to the couple.
I have been given lots of background info on them, but never have mett them, so this is my biggest written challenge yet!
I never thought the obvious tthought tthat there would be short story/writing competitions out there!
Honest!
D'oh!
Without sounding big headed, i could turn my gift, (as everyone calls it!), into a fortune!
Well, at least pay the debt off or a nice chunk!
As for me, well, i don't have educational qualifications coming out of my ears, and i don't know where i get all these poems and stories from.
They literally come out of thin air!!!0 -
Joining writers groups or circles are always a good idea.
And passing work on to people you trust for critiscism is too, a good idea.
But, remember these rules, and ignore what these thespian types say.
You don't need to research all the greats, or be well read.
You don't need to have umpteen degrees.
The only rule when it comes to writing is that there are no rules.
Rules only restrict the natural flow from the heart, mind & soul.
Just write!
