I certainly will be thinking more carefully about buying things once my income goes down. I will be cancelling my charity donations for a start. I will wrote to each one saying
"due to ongoing government austerity measures and cuts to my income I can no longer sustain supporting your cause. If you have any concerns regarding this unfortunate situation please address them to: G Osborne, 11 Downing Street, London."
I wonder if i should just quit my job, leave all my friends and bf behind, leave behind my GP and other support and tell my parents to let me move home. Except they have 2 kids in uni, and my dad is already working past retirement age just to support them so i don;t think they will appreciate adult offspring coming back with no income and no way to contribute. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. I don't drink or smoke either. Nor do I have sky TV or a season ticket to a football club and buy my clothes off ebay second hand or at charity shops.
If you have an income of 15,000 with tax credits then a 2,000 quid reduction is like 13% of your income taken away. MP's should have a 13% pay decrease not a 10% increase. If you an income of £8,500 including tax credit and lose £1,500 then thats 17% of an already low income lost.
This government do not live in the real world and it's not my fault the country went bust and we have a deficit. Just tax the banks £12bn a year spread between them all. They can afford it.0 -
I am going to sell the car and get a 125cc motorcycle at this rate.0

I am set to lose £125 a month roughly due to the tax credits cuts. I know the conservatives had talked of welfare cuts and on the whole I do agree with them to a certain extent but I wasn't expected them to be slashed so severely. I think they would have been better making cuts on the amount you receive as your children get older eg I can't leave my 8yr old by herself to work full time but when she is 14 or 15 she would be fine for a couple of hours. In my opinion they should reduce your tax credits on a sliding scale as your child gets older. This would also allow people to slowly adjust to the decrease in help that they have come to rely on.0

I agree with that. They should also leave the disabled tax credit side alone. It helps people to remain in work who struggle to work full time though no fault of their own.0 -

Why have they not screwed down on Pension Credit then? Changed the income thresholds for that so pensioners lose thousands a year?0
