Hi there,
We're sorry to hear you had a negative first experience with Revolut. If you entered the promotion code 'MSE' when it was advertised on the MSE website that you would receive £5 credit for your first £10, we would be very happy to credit this to your account. We have recently changed the promotion to receive £5 when topping up your first £500. We have made this change in order to be sustainable as a company, and continue providing the best available exchange rates to all of our users. We're sorry you're dissapointed. Please get in touch via the in-app support so we can investigate this further.0 -
Hi Ian d,
We are truly sorry for the issues you have had with your Revolut PIN. Unfortunately there was an issue relating to our payments provider which affected a number of users PINs. Our support, operations and developers have been working flat out to resolve this issue and have now implemented a fix. We have also changed our support processes internally and hired more members of the team so we can efficiently deal with your queries/issues. Again, we're sorry that this happened and we are adding prevention measures to ensure this doesn't happen again.0 -
Am currently in the USA and have been trying to use my Revolut Mastercard for the last week and a half. It works intermittently at best, and in that time the card has been declined and needed unlocking by Revolut 3 times already.
It was declined again this evening, and it is extremely hard to trust the card in daily use.
My card has never worked in a proper chip and pin machine, but will allow me to draw cash from an ATM, and use it at stores where they swipe and you sign.
Revolut will tell you to go to a cashpoint and check your balance, which supposedly updates the network with your PIN number , which they say is the reason the card is declined, because your PIN is not recognised.
This is just not true, certainly not in my case. I have taken to drawing cash every time the card is reenabled, because you know it's going to be declined again at some point. As you can only draw £500 a month before being charged I am likely to end up paying charges I shouldn't have to, because of Revolut's inability to provide a stable and reliable service.
The concept is great, and the app is good - really easy to load and exchange money etc.
Unfortunately there are fundamental issues with the Mastercard network and these cards that mean I also must agree with others that MSE should consider withdrawing their recommendation of this product.
The fact I'm typing this now on our Holiday of a Lifetime is a simple testament to that.0 -
I had doubts about this card.
I have always used a halifax Clarity on my travels but wanted to lock in a dollar rate before going to Vegas in may because of the uncertainty with the dollar, so got myself, my wife and my son a card.
I am now having even more doubts and thinking I may go back to relying on my Clarity card (and other back up cards)0 -

As you have alternatives to use in case of problems when in US, already have dollars at a 'locked in' rate, and can convert back to pounds (perhaps with profit) and withdraw at any time, why not go ahead and see how they work in May and let us know..?Evolution, not revolution0 -
Hi! I'm planning to use this card on a holiday overseas, in India, mainly to withdraw money (I've been told India is not really cards friendly) and to avoid CC scams. Anyone has experience of using it over there? Or in similar countries?GC £~~/3000

Just wanted to throw my hat into the ring. I ordered my Revolut card in March this year ready for my honeymoon in the USA. Previously I'd used an ICE prepaid card and had terrible problems.
My card arrived 4 days later, no problems setting it up. I've tried it in a UK cashpoint with no issues and used the card online to buy tickets to a baseball game at the Mets stadium ready for our trip, again with no issues.
I'm not travelling till the very end of May but I can highly recommend this card so far!0 -
I've never posted on a MSE forum before but had to post about my experience with the Revolut card. I had no problems using the app and signing up, the card came within 5 days and I used it in a UK cashpoint as recommended with no problems. It has worked perfectly in Spain every time. I feel I got good rates by being able to judge when to convert cash to withdraw I am not left with loads of cash to exchange back to pounds at a really poor rate. Instead I was able to exchange what I needed as I went along and I can still use the card to withdraw my remaining cash in the UK. What's not to like?0

There's no need to exceed by drawing your unused balance from an ATM when back in the UK, you can spend pounds with the card or withdraw the balance back to your bank free of charge.Evolution, not revolution0 -
Hi, not posted before but surprised by some of the negative feedback so I thought I let you know my experience. I've just come back from 3 weeks in Florida and used this card daily, from restaurants to theme parks to small shops. I didn't have one issue at all. Some shops I had to sign rather than chip and pin but this was more down to the shop than the card. I was able to easily access the app (which hasn't crashed once for me) and top up my card with ease. I've now returned and had some dollars left on it, as I'm travelling to Europe next week I quickly changed the remaining Dollars to Euros with an extremely good rate (with no fees)....I cannot recommend this card enough!0
