Just a quick message to say I've used the card in both Dublin and Madrid - withdrawing money from ATMs with no problems at all.
The app works perfectly and it's been very easy to top cash to convert into the current i want (I've used a Visa Debit Card).
So I'd recommend it for sure.
Cheers,

Had a card since last summer & despite some issues with it not being sent out, then receiving an emergency card, then being charged for sending out the actual card I was hopeful that this would be a reliable source of funds to use whilst abroad. It actually worked on the few occasions I used it in Paphos. So I was relatively happy.
However recently it all started to go wrong. I tried to check my balance with the intention of adding more Euro's for an upcoming trip, but the app wouldn't allow me to sign on. I rang the support team & on the very first attempt actually got through to someone who was very helpful but totally unable to help me. 40 minutes of reloading the app and trying to go through various fixes proved futile. I then had to send multiple screenshot of each stage. A few days later I was told that the issue might be my phone (even though it was the same phone I used when first using the App). Tried on another phone still no joy. Then had to provide step by step detail of my attempts to get in, despite already having sent screen shots. In the last nearly 5 weeks I have had sporadic emails promising that the Tech Team would be in touch, but of course they never did.
Despite my frequent follow up messages, the last of which said that I no faith in the product and wanted to close my account was met with - the Tech Team would contact me - no mention of my request to close the account.
The last straw was that now there seems to be no one available on the Support Number. I have looked on the website to see how to close the account & of course was informed that I would have to withdraw the funds via the app before contacting the Support Team to cancel -NEITHER OF WHICH I CAN DO:mad::mad:!!!
This is most definitely NOT a product that I recommend and unless you are happy to have hours of frustration and are prepared to have a product that may or may not work then I suggest you stay clear of it.0 -
I was thinking of getting one of these for a trip to the USA in 3 months time
After reading the last few pages I have changed my mind.
ATM fees
Dollar loading fees
problems with top ups
have all put me off.
I usually just go with a clarity card and PO CC but with the dollar arte falling was looking at an alternative.0 -

The fee is for topping up if you have a USD debit card, not for spending in dollars.
I don't see how the rate falling changes your spending habits? If it falls with Halifax it falls with Revolut.0 -

It may change my spending habits by buying dollars now instead of using the CC in 3 months time.
I had thought that if I put x dollars on the card now, that would be the rate I got when spending.
I need to read more about pre pay cards0 -
I have just found out about the lies we were told when we signed up, this new fair usage limit of £500 a month is abysmal I would draw more than that at one time in Thailand to minimise the effects of the Thai ATM charges.I will be going back to cash.0

You are right. so don't bite off your nose because you are angry at your face. The changes don't affect you at all unless you need more than the equivalent of £500 in cash.
In the USA I rarely used cash at all. So US$700 in cash may be more than adequate.
If your wont is to lock in the best possible rate now, open an account. Don't be a sheep.0 -

fat frank....whilst cash is king in Thailand, you still have the option to use other cards over the bank counter. Halifax Clarity being one such animal. That way you avoid their usurious ATM fees. Some prepaid cards also work in the same way.0 -
Hello, thank you for replying. You were right it was a problem with the address verification system but unfortunately no amount of formattinf and reformatting my address would fix it. Eventually we gave up and just did a bank transfer which thankfully worked. Revolut said they would refund my money but I am still waiting and its been 4 days. Crossing my fingers it comes through tomorrow because I really need it0

I can understand the sentiment even if the current changes don't affect someone. If the company lied once, they will most likely do it again.0
