I did it, got an answer and sent screenshots to describe the problem and informed about my answer in the in-app chat. As usual there is no any response.
Bad Request means: The server cannot or will not process the request due to something that is perceived to be a client error (e.g., malformed request syntax, invalid request message framing, or deceptive request routing).
This way Revolut needs to request netbanx.com system administrators about the problem. They can see what's wrong.
However as I see the support do nothing.

You still haven't explained what it is that you are trying to do. If your current card is denominated in Roubles, but you are trying to top up in Euros, your card/bank account will charge you a foreign exchange fee for the exchange. So there is no benefit to you.
The only possible benefit is that once you change your Roubles to Euros, you can then exchange from Euros to other supported currencies.
Make sure the billing address of the debit card you are using to top up is the same as your Revolut acount address otherwise the top up will fail due to failing our AVS check.
    .
The rule is that you should top up in the currency that your bank account is held in. For example, if you have a UK bank account make sure you top up in GBP. If you do not do this your bank will convert the money for you and charge a huge fee!
  • Just as a matter of interest, has anyone tried withdrawing from the app to a bank account? Does it work, as if so, how long does it take?
It is not the bullet with your name on it, rather the one addressed "to whom it may concern" that should worry you!

    Hi,

We have two Revolut cards in Las Vegas.

First one: PIN denied. Claims to be reset and failed again. May have been user's error.
Second one: been withdrawing and transferring well. Then stopped working. After contacting Support, they say it was locked due to an ATM request. Despite sending numerous documents, the card remains locked and now getting penalised on bank cards as without funds locked in Revolut. No response from Support in 24 hours plus.

I would not advise using Revolut in Las Vegas.

I was in Vegas last week as well. Used my Revolut card in ATM's, shops and airport with no problems.

Also had no problems using it in Seattle and San Francisco. Will most certainly be using it on future trips.
  • I have been using this card for the last month now during a work trip to NZ and despite good first impressions, I've had a number of problems, the most significant of which is that £43 has been deducted from my card and Revolut aren't being very forthcoming in refunding it. I would advise a very cautious approach to this card and ensure that you have a back-up option if you start to have problems. If they choose not to be helpful there are very few avenues through which to pursue your money as they are not FCA regulated. From what I can tell from the information on their website, they are essentially a third party/middleman which makes pursuing any problem a logistical nightmare.

On withdrawing cash, the ATM was unable to dispense but my Revolut card deducted the money anyway. I contacted them via chat and they assured me twice that it would refund either when the bank informed them of the cancelled transaction, or if not, automatically after 10 working days. It's now a month since this happened. I managed to track down an email address on this forum (not listed on their website) for support after the last person I was chatting to via app support simply disappeared and stopped answering my messages. Since then I have had assurances that they will deal with it turn to advice that I should chase the bank myself. At this stage I have little hope that I'll be refunded the money.

Another stress-causing problem is that the top-ups via the app don't always work (I'm running the most up to date app version on an Android OS). This seems to be due to my visa debit card taking me through to the 'verify by visa' screen which stalls, the top-up shows as pending for around a day or so but then just disappears, and I have to re-top-up, sometimes with the same fail, sometimes successfully. This wait is a problem if I'm running low on money. So far the failed top-ups haven't deducted from my account but my confidence that it won't (given the problem above) has gone, making top-ups a bit of a lottery. I have another month of work in NZ and I'm seriously considering switching to my debit card and shouldering the charges as at least this will protect me from further losses, using Revolut has become too much of a gamble, despite the favourable exchange rate.
In summary, the exchange rate is great and this will save you money and the card works without problem most of the time but when it goes wrong you stand to lose (easily wiping out any savings you made) and customer service leaves a little to be desired.

It used to take 4 hours it now takes 5 working days
  • Used the card for a trip in Sri Lanka. Withdrawn money in local currency from several ATM across the country. No issues encountered.

Be careful when using the withdraw function. I tried to use the withdraw function to transfer cash to account that wasn't mine. The transaction appeared to go through but was not accepted by the bank and the transaction got lost.

Fair play to Revolut though, after investigation they credited back my Revolut account with the cash
  • So far not so good. I've just ordered a card and I was told that it was sent out on 24th and that it can take up to 5 working days for it to arrive on a first class royal mail service? Why would Revolut being busy affect the royal mail service? Something doesn't add up especially after they say it was sent out on 24th which I'm starting to question!

I'm leaving the country on the 1st and I need my card before then and they are saying that they can send me out an emergency card on a next day delivery service for £10!

How about I take my business elsewhere and you miss out on 1 months' worth of merchant transactions?!
  • Just back from Spain and have a review of mixed success. Possibly some of the problems encountered are teething troubles of my own but I will explain the good and the bad I experienced.

Firstly arriving at Malaga I went to ATM to withdraw €1000 to pay our rental accommodation. I had no access to wifi at the airport and although I thought I new the number I could not withdraw the cash causing me to try different number and blocking my card. When I had wifi I contacted Revolut and they called me to give advice on accessing my money and reset my pin. I headed to an atm and tried to withdraw the €1000 but after several attempts of them referring me to my bank I had one last go and tried €500 and low and behold it let me withdraw €500 x 2. Moral of this story remember your pin and if the withdrawal is large try a smaller amount. I tried on the help function speaking with Revolut about the issue but never received a definining reason, sometimes with the chat function the person just does not understand.

Apart from the above I used the card at shops, restaurants and ATM's without problem.

ONE WORD OF CAUTION, when paying and entering details on the card terminal keep hold of machine until you have gone through the whole process as after you enter your PIN and confirm another page comes up asking which currency, which should in my case be euros, the machine appears to recognise that your card is from the UK and gives the exchange rate, if you dont select euros yourself the staff hearing you speak English seem to go down the GBP route.

At the ATM I was always asked which currency and the option to select is in my case euros or the bank will convert.

A word of warning about the chance of losing your Revolut card in an ATM, if it is one of the nameless emergency-issue cards. I cannot be sure whether that was the cause of my own card being swallowed by an ATM in Indonesia (Bank BCA), but the machine appeared to be working normally before and after the event, when it emitted a loud alarm and displayed a screen saying it was temporarily out of order, without even giving me the chance to enter a PIN. So it seems reasonable to suspect that the problem was with the card itself - although others may be using their nameless cards in ATMs without them being retained in this way...?
