  • Woke up feeling groggy and full of the cold but went to (free!) yoga and did feel much better for it. Also caught up with the best friend and resisted the lure of Whole Foods.

Had macaroni I found in the freezer for lunch and spaghetti bolognese I made yesterday for dinner - both were yummy! I think I'm always a little surprised when I make something edible.

Got fancy sour dough bread in the freezer (had the bakery slice it for me) to have for breakfast, toasted with salted butter and nice raspberry jam. Then chicken noodle soup and crackers to take into work for lunch. Going to pack that up this evening so I don't forget about it.

I'm still working on clearing things out and throwing out junk or things that aren't useful or beautiful to me any more. It's really therapeutic and I love that the more I do the better my surroundings look and the calmer I feel.

I also have a new plan to help the money saving along. Whenever I buy something, I'm going to round it up to the next pound and put that remainder into paying off the cards. To start with I'll just do it on the full transaction amount. Maybe if I get really good at it then I'll move on to rounding each individual item, but we'll start small.

Also, I got the MySurvey points sorted eventually and I have £25 of vouchers on their way to me! Hurrah!
  • Oh man! Just went to take a shower and it started fine... then the water turned icy cold, right after I'd soaped up of course!!

I just checked the boiler and the pressure gauge is at zero. Assume that's the issue. Sigh. I guess I'll have to call the landlord first thing tomorrow morning. :(
  • It's quite straightforward to up the pressure in your boiler - or will your landlord be ok about coming over? Basically if you look underneath it, you'll see a couple of tap valves on the pipe that leads from your water supply into the boiler. You just need to open them up and close them again once the pressure gets to where it should be...
  • Good list of things done over the weekend there Belle, I like it! :T

Don't worry about the boiler, just have ice cold showers - very fresh and invigorating, it will certainly wake you up in the morning! :p

  • Thanks guys! The landlord should hopefully be over tomorrow to take a look, honestly, I think he'd rather come over and do it than risk me poking around under the boiler myself!

Did get another blow this evening though. Our new flatmate who only moved in less than two months ago is having some mental health problems and has given notice to move out as he's quitting his job and going back to live with his parents. I'm sympathetic that he's not well but it is a faff for me having to go through the whole process again so soon.

Keep your fingers crossed for me that I can find someone nice to replace him in time!

I'm trying to stay positive and just get down to business and work things out. I can do this!
  • Keep it Lovely Belle :)

  • Well, had a phenomenal response to my flat share ad - interest from over 30 people in 24 hours! Some not suitable of course but got 7 booked in to see the room tomorrow and probably some for Thursday too.

Fingers still crossed and big positive smile on!

Had a free full body massage today too as my friend is qualifying and needs case studies. It was great and muchly needed relaxation after the stress and the hard work my physio made me do this morning.

Also landlord not only fixed the boiler but took away a bunch of rubbish we needed to take to the dump and left me a note to say the flat was looking lovely! He's my favourite!

It's a busy week but I feel like I'm in control and making progress and being the kind of person I want to be especially in how I treat others.

Have a fab night everyone! Will hopefully get to catch up with some diaries tomorrow evening after the viewings.
