  • Just popping in because I managed to get my Autumn/Winter boots for such a bargain! £99 leather boots by Dune and I got them for £55.80 in the sale. Will get to try them on Wednesday - fingers crossed they fit! So pleased, usually I would spend £100-200 on boots and these have a chunky heel and a shape that will work with skirts/dresses or jeans.

While we're confessing, I have too many smellies and beauty products. :rotfl: Seriously, something like 17 lip balms. What's wrong with me? :D I shall also be cataloguing tomorrow and getting them used up!

Hope your clearing and sorting goes well tomorrow. Be ruthless! And maybe put the clothes that your going to get rid of into those vacuum bags, you know, just in case you need them! :rotfl:

Nice bargain with the boots :):T

Hi Belle, I know what you mean about clothes, I must've donated about 4 bin bags full to the charity shop this year! Now I just have a basic summer and winter wardrobe. where do you do your free yoga?
  • Regarding the food cupboard, making a list of everything you've got and how many portions there are is a good idea. I did the same, and was actually surprised by how many meals I could get out of what I already had (didn't stop me blowing my meal plan though when I gave in to temptation at the supermarket. :o ). I too have limited kitchen space, but I'm putting that down as a good thing!

Here's to a good day of sorting! :j

Uh oh, I haven't even thought to look in the cupboard... I have a feeling that's another area that'll be getting added to my sorting and clearing list!

That's where I'm hoping to be! Especially as I'm (verrrrrrrrry slowly) losing weight I put on while ill. It'll be such a great feeling to donate all the 16s and then all the 14s and then the 12s and finally get back into my 10s... one day!

The fancy yoga shops like Lululemon and Sweaty Betty always have free classes you can book on their websites, if you have one around. Also some of the sports stores like Reebok do classes too. At first I was really nervous, and I don't wear any of their branded clothes, my workout stuff is all from Primark, but everyone is lovely and I've never had anyone try to sell me anything either. Great for a free class!

Thanks Itsa! I think once I get organised and stop hoarding food the smaller space will help me too. Also I have SO MUCH baking stuff and I rarely ever bake. I guess I need to find a better way to store all that stuff. Maybe a box on the top of the fridge or something just to free up some room for actual food.

Okay, wish me luck friends! I'm planning to see carpet and the back of the fridge before today is out. Helps that it's foul weather outside so there's no temptation to get out of my jammies and go for a wander. :j
  • I am shamefully sneaking in to confess to having more moisturiser than I know what to do with... :o
I have to make myself use up what I have before I buy more...
  • Oh dear, we haven't really gotten too far with the decluttering. I've made the kitchen and living room presentable though and bought bin bags that don't fall halfway down to the bottom of the bin as soon as anything is put in them. I don't know where the flatmates find these teeny tiny bin bags but they drive me mad.

Went for a swim which was lovely (and included a stint in the jacuzzi and steam room!) and have been watching Bake Off reruns this afternoon.

It's been such a nice bank holiday weekend. I bought some stuff I didn't need - naughty Belle! But that's why I've been looking at the new budget, cause if I don't have some treats here and there then I'll never stick to paying down the debt! I'm still kind of amazed that I'm still going strong!
  • Ah, but life would be so dull without a few treats here and there! Put it in the budget and all will be well, just don't overdo it unlike someone else I could mention! :o

  • Just waiting for the online accounts to update after the bank holiday. I so wish they would just be instant! I've decided that I'll put £1000 in an emergency fund and pay the minimums on the cards (since they're 0%) and then I can start hammering them down. Obviously, I'll use that fund to help pay them off when the time comes but it feels really good to know I have a buffer for anything that might crop up.

Need to rejig things in YNAB to take account of the new budget. Obviously it won't start until next pay day (three weeks away!) but I want to get all the categories right and ready.

First step in the decluttering is going to be putting like with like. So, a pile of jumpers. Pile of jeans. Pile of PJs. You get the idea. Then I can see what I have a ridiculous amount of or what I have that doesn't fit, yadda yadda.

Going to watch some Gilmore Girls while I do that, which always puts me in a good mood. I feel like I haven't made much progress lately but I need to keep reminding myself that any month I don't add to the debt is progress! Any month I pay money off the debt is GREAT progress! :p
  • It all sounding like its going wonderfully well Belle !! I have and always have had a lot of shampoo's I do agree that if it where worst case scenario we could afford to replace. I like Primarni things sometimes its just a quick fashion fix ..I'm forever buying their great Pj's :P
