Thanks CCL! The leg is slooooooowly, slowly getting better. Can't wait until it's on the mend again.
Work was fun today, I love the creative side of things, although I did have to drink an awful lot of coffee to deal with getting up so early on a Saturday!0 -
Hi buds, I really haven't felt like posting because everything has kind of gone to pot on the MSE front. Once all my spending and money-shuffling was done I'm now in more debt than when I started in July.
This is exactly what I do every time. Strong start and then a somersault off the wagon in spectacular fashion.
I didn't buy junk but I bought stuff I don't need, can't return, etc.
I'm angry with myself but I'm not ready to give up. I was feeling so ashamed and didn't want to write this post but all your support has kept me plodding on and I'll just get back to it again, remake my plans, and keep moving forward.
Going to try regular updates but also keeping a paper spending diary so I can see EXACTLY where every penny goes.0 -

Ah Belle, don't beat yourself up, cause you know what, you're here posting, you haven't just vanished. You're on the debt busting journey. Sometimes you move forward, sometimes back, sometimes just wobble around a bit. It's all part of it. You're here reading other people's stories, absorbing all the advice and you will get there. Glad you're not giving up, none of us can. We WILL get there.....one day at a time. Chin up, tomorrow is a new day. And it's nearly the weekend :TDebt Apr 15 - £6895.44Apr 17 - £2500

I overspent on junk food and cola last month — incredibly stupid — so you're not alone. I think slip-ups are bound to happen because it's part of the process, but it's important not to let a lapse become a relapse. Get back to MSE-ing as soon as you can and move on from the mistake(s).
I'm an utter hypocrite, because I beat myself up over my overspending, but beating yourself up achieves nothing. You just have to figure out what you can do right now to place yourself in a better financial position — I 'm trying to do this through a variety of strategies, including changing my mobile tariff, switching to Tesco Value cola and cutting out junk food for at least a month (not including stuff I make, like cake!). I'm even putting more effort into surveys/SBing. These are all little things, but they have made a big difference to my mentality.Rainy day fund — 210/1000 Emergency fund — 1019/1500

Thanks guys! I think I'm back on track - today I've been cooking so that I have some dinners and lunches for next week. It's much easier not to spend money if I have food cooked and ready to heat up! I also got some yoghurt and granola for breakfasts.
So organised!0 -
Hey Belle, Keep trying - just think where you would be if you hadn't tried at all .. Good luck we are all here cheering you on

Thanks Sam, it's all a learning curve!
I made chilli and I have roasted veggies ready for work lunches. I think I'll have the roasted veg with pasta or rice. I have some chicken breasts though so I can roast them up with some lemons and garlic later in the week too. Yum!
Planning food for the week is a good start for me. I have greek yoghurt, granola and fresh strawberries ready for breakfast too.0 -
Well done keep it up sweetpea
