4/5 and 608. Good job i'm not a gambling man.0

I don't agree it's entirely meaningless.
If you though everything was in order and you got a really low score it would prompt you to check what was up.
You can do that by rechecking your entire report but this is "at a glance".
Also if you do something like apply for a couple of cards then you can see whether it has a negative of positive effect (in the opinion of noodle).0 -
My Capone cards, which I cancelled, are not on Noddle,( if they ever were)? but. still are on Experians.?I don't agree it's entirely meaningless.

Seems there's no consistency between the Agencies.
I had a car on 0% Finance, paid off June, it's on Experian, not on Noddle. Other discrepancies apply too.
Seems big banks etc use Experian and Equifax for searches, rather than Noddle.
Seems one needs at least 2 agencies to get a true picture, 3 if you require a good score for credit;;IE, Mortgage.
It's just a snapshot in time. Not a very reliable one though, considering someones livelyhood could depend on it.
luckily I'm way past that.:)
just making sure no ones hitching a ride.:D0 -
What do you mean by "not on"?
A settled card stays on for 6 years.
They may move from current to settled at slightly different times depending on when the agencies update their records of your reports but within 1 month they should be consistent.
Settled accounts don't disappear until 6 years
because they are your credit history.
Have you looked I in the "closed" section on noddle, perhaps they are there.
Are you comparing the two reports on the same date?
Yes you need all three reports to get a full picture.
Not all lenders report to all agencies.
Cap one do appear on noddle.
It does sound like you are not looking in the "closed" section of noddle.0 -
I think if there was a better correlation between the numbers they're now giving out (in the hope to flog you Noddle improve) and the 1-5/5 people were getting, people might think more of them.
I'm up to 461 today - despite more searches
My lending stream hasn't appeared in the short term loan section, hopefully it stays that way!
Will be interesting to see what it does leap up to when my electoral roll is added. I'm nearly has high as some others despite being undischarged - it's hard for anyone to get worried with that sort of information!
I'd much rather monitor the data (e.g. correct addresses, make sure payments are being reported correctly) than the number.
Maybe I'm being cynical, but it seems those who have decent records have low scores, and my 'score' (which based on the numbers others have been posting should be about 200!) is artificially high. Encouraging both sets of people to have a look into the 'improve' product???0 -
With mine, the coloured graph thingy changes when I print the report. That is to say, that on screen it shows as just above good. On the printed report the marker has shifted to below fair.
If anyone needs any further indication that the scores / ratings are meaningless, give it a try.0 -
A Noodle is a long thin strip of dough...commonly boiled and eaten with lots more noodles and with a sauce.
Noddle however is a credit reporting service from Callcredit where you can see your credit history as reported by Callcredit as often as you like. It's free...but they'll try and sell you stuff which any savvy moneysaver will ignore.
And my score....3/5 - 592 - Fair. How can I be fair? Got lots of credit all paid on time only using half my available limit. Should be more.
It's worse....new credit report generated today and now I'm 575 - Poor...what!!!! why? I've not taken out any new credit, well within my limits, paid everything on time for years and the score is going down. Strange...
I've got £19,100 of available credit limit and owe £6,700. I also have 2 personal loans on which I owe £21,000.
I also have an unused overdraft of £1,000.
It's very manageable. 1% repayment rates on the CC's £67 and £737 monthly on the personal loans.:footie:
Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

£40k worth of unsecured debt is quite a lot although it is of course relative to income.
It might be perfectly manageable but the amount if it might simply mean you're not regarded as credoiteorthy if applying for more.
Income makes a big difference, but if you have a high income then why are you borrowing?0 -
Outstanding amount is only £27,700...not £40,000 although I could max them out and borrow that the interest rates are too high.£40k worth of unsecured debt is quite a lot although it is of course relative to income.

I might have a high income but I borrow to make ends meet. My income goes towards paying the debts and I use the credit cards to pay the bills. It'll all be cleared in 4 maybe 5 years.
I didn't think it was that much debt....anyway my income isn't on my credit report so the score shouldn't reflect that.:footie:

I would have agreed with this, until they released this new 3 digit score.
How can I have 5/5, and a mid 600s score, when people with 2/5 have the same mid 600s score, and people with 4/5 have higher than me.
The fact is, these particular scores actually do mean nothing, as they in no way correlate to one another. A 5/5 turns out to mean exactly the same as a 2/5 when translated in to 3 digits - should I worry now, as my score is a lot worse than I thought as I previously just knew I was a 5/5...0
