Ive just had the email
I have replied via their customer service page
"Thankyou for your email regarding the non-avaiability of the 2 external drives I ordered but since I have had an email from you prior, accepting my offer to buy 2 items and providing me with a delivery date of next week, I dont think I can agree to the cancellation. I am unable to check my bank account at this moment but I believe the amount may have already been taken. If you are unable to provide these items I will accept an alternative item providing it is of the the same capacity and quality, or a greater capacity in leiu of compensation
I have taken a copy of this information for my records
Please contact via email only
Thankyou"
You never know

I bet they monitor this site0 -
Quote from the Ts&Cs attached to the Order Confirmation mail:
This is probably wishful reading, but does that mean if we got the confirmation mail they've got an obligation to supply something of at least equivalent spec?
So, the way I understand that is, if they can't supply the goods I ordered then they should offer me an alternative, at no extra cost. Not simply cancel my order?0 -
I'm wondering if the date the order was placed & the quantity ordered has any bearing on the info people are getting. I placed my order (for one) late on 14 Aug, got my acknowledgement the same night with the order confirmation coming through shortly after 1am the next day. Since then, I've heard nothing & I've not had a cancellation e-mail either, but the money is still showing as pending on my debit card account.
Did anyone with a cancellation e-mail either order it on the 15th Aug (or later), or order more than one or two?BSC #53 - "Never mistake activity for achievement."

I ordered 2 on the evening of the 14th.
I've just emailed them saying I won't accept their cancellation at such a late stage in the process, but will accept an alternative (at no extra charge), as per their T&Cs.0 -
Let's take revenge. Bombard their customer care with enquiries regarding cancellation. Never mention anything on subject line so that they can filter.0

I know for certain the people from Dell monitor these forums and they were answering queries from customers on other threads earlier on.Do I want it? ......Do I need it? ......What would happen if I don't buy it??????0

I just got the cancellation e-mail. I hope they're as quick to put my money back into my bank account, as they were to take it out!0

As long as they conform with the law and to a lesser extent (when it's in my favour
) their own T&Cs, then they can monitor for all their worth.

I just received an email stating:
"We are very sorry – we've had an error in our systems, and the product you thought you were ordering was wrongly described on our website. The product code and price of your order related to a completely different product, and was incorrectly linked to the description of the Iomega Hard Disc Drive you requested. In fact, this is a discontinued product and is no longer in stock.
Due to this, your Iomega Order Number: XXXXXXXX has been cancelled. Within the next 5 working days any pre-authorisation on your credit/debit card will be cancelled and we will refund to your card any money already collected."
I think this confirms a few doubts! :mad:0
