To be honest, I just wish they'd hurry and advise one way or another - so I can at least start looking elsewhere for the storage I need.
It can't have it both ways. The T&C state binding contract when Order Confirmation is given. There's no way a court is likely to accept an argument that it realised a pricing mistake AFTER confirming an order, therefore it has a binding agreement. The point would be that the delay between accepting the order and confirming it should be ample to ensure that no mistakes have been made at their end. Given that the consumer has no input into this process or its delay, DELL is autonomous in this and any errors it makes at this stage are entirely its own and should not expect the customer to be made to suffer as a result of any such mistakes.
I believe it's called "loss of bargain".0 -
Apparently ( read elsewhere ) they are going to make a decision in the next couple of hours.
Where did you read this ??0 -
Ref post #41
Well I for one will be contacting watchdog, that's the price they advertised so I want it at that price......
....and relax.0 -
You reckon they may be waiting till the service desk close in the vain hope that people won't ring?0

that wording isn't anywhere on the pdf document i received .....there's nothing whatsoever as a get out of jail free card in it or the confirmation email0 -
As this is no longer available, shouldn't it be moved to the other section?0

Ooh, this thread is really starting to hot up now that people realise it ain't gonna be honoured (just like the recent Apple Store misprice and the many other misprices gone before). It's like Groundhog Day all over again (I say, it's like Groundhog Day all over again):D - has anyone mentioned "invitation to treat", yet?
I love a good misprice saga - always a good laugh to read some of the posts as people get on their high horses, plus everyone and their granny suddenly appears to become an expert in contract law.:p
I'll probably stay subscribed to this thread for the time being, until I get bored with it all, by which time there'll no doubt be another misprice for us all to jump on.;)

The money's been taken out of my bank account today. It's not just pending, it's out, and it's definitely Dell that's taken it out.I just checked online.0

a difference straight away from when you tried to buy the hard drive from apple was the fact that no one to the best of my knowledge got the confirmation e mail that we have received from dell.
as i said earlier there's no get out of jail free card that i can find for dell. they may try and say that the supplier can't supply X thousand of them ....well that's fine by me as long as they supply as many that are available to whomever.0
