Are you getting declined at stage 1 (i.e. automated credit scoring) for these accounts? Are the accounts getting opened and then closed or just not getting opened? If the latter then is it possibly due to the number of recent credit searches that they'd decline you?

    Ed-1 both is happening.

Update: letter to Lloyds sent with documents supporting recent activity asking them also if they have a marker to remove it as its unfounded.

I have also sent a appeal letter to each decline.

I have a meeting in branch with both Barclays and Yorkshire Bank. See what happens, others have spoke highly of them.

Hmm.... this was deleted yesterday or went missing anyway...should be about post #60... make of that what you will.. it's hardly insulting or breaking any rules - but it was emailled to me which is why I can paste it (of course if this is just missing for me and visible to everyone else, let me know):

This is true - he's been here forever, even longer than me. Questionable taste in football teams and probably a user ID he regrets now though :)

Seems a few threads here in the last week have been pulled or edited, some links also not working... dark forces are at work chez MSE forums.

At what stage did TSB turn you down?

Nationwide might be worth a try? They can accept you online and then all you do is send ID or go into branch and show ID.

    TSB said credit score

Nationwide accepted issued card etc and closed it down?
  • Got to be fraud checking. You wrote in to CIFAS yet?

You might want to try National Hunter too...

You might want to ask Nationwide why they closed your account after successfully opening it and then closing it down after they issued you a card as well?

I'd personally re-apply with them and see what happens. In the worst case scenario and if all banks decline you for a bank account, your only other option is to apply for a prepaid debit card. Cash Plus are good, it's a MasterCard £5 fee and you receive the card, PIN etc, 100% acceptance online and if they can't verify your identity online, they will still open it but with lower account limits but after you send them ID online, they will fully verify the account and lift the limits. Hope this helps.
