Lloyds closed my accounts hard getting new one

Options
Hi all,

Having read the forums here on several matters I have finally summoned up the courage to join :-)

On 25th June 2015 I had my accounts closed by Lloyds and a letter was sent out the same date. They said it was suspected fraud and the accounts would be open for two months but a block on all transactions would be made. I found out after my debit card was swallowed up at a cash machine. I was told information would NOT be passed on to any third parties.

I read about the fraud report on credit files so I ordered one just to be safe dated 27th June 2015. No markers against me.

I do have bad credit from years ago, I want to address this ASAP but need to get a bank account to start this and I really want to go with a main bank

I have applied to Natwest, they stated that all that was needed was ID then the application would go through and checking the system there were no issues. Today they say its with referrals....great. I only asked for a basic account.

Nationwide opened a basic account issued card etc but then after further checks closed the account because 'I failed to disclose something on my credit file'??? Huh???

I have also applied to the CO-OP today by post.

If anyone can give me any pointers that would be great as I APPEAR not to have had a marker on my report and its been several years since I had any issues on my report?

Is there a CIFAS marker against you?
You mention fraud - did you pay in funds for a third party at all?

No I received a pay out from a company I worked for it was a large sum that was all. I have checked my report 2 days later for a CIFAS marker and I do not have one according to 27th June 2015 (2 days after Lloyds wrote to me) and they also said they would not share this information on the phone?

I am banking on Natwest they have sent a letter to say they need to do a few things before making a decision and asked for my passport which I uploaded to them and they accepted.

Wow, I'm going to go Barclays Tomorrow to set up some cash cards if they really don't do credit checks...Lloyds do them with all their accounts =/

Sod it just applied to each major bank (i.e. but not to ones all linked, I have applied to Natwest but not Halifax or RBS). I had a 4 year loan with Santander and never missed a payment so hopefully they will accept.

I know it can damage credit score BUT I have also applied to basic cash accounts just in case.

    HSBC declined me straight away......

What's Halifax got to do with either RBS or NatWest?
If you have a CIFAS marker then all will reject you.

BTW Barclays do credit check for their basic (Cashcard) account.
