Want a basic but comfortable hotel, and as much easy access to the parks and village as possible. That's probably it. I can't imagine the 5 dads will want to lose 5 days leave to go, so weekend probably easier. I don't think it will matter too much if a couple of the days are busier as the kids will be able to entertain each other.
the direct Eurostar from London to the gates of DLP and back arrives at DLP at around 2pm, and leaves on your last day at around 6pm as I recall. How many nights in the hotel would you be looking for? And how many days entry into the parks?0 -

At least 3 nights but it's coming up cheaper for 4 nights on the DLP website for weekends in March 2014.
I guess passes on as many days as possible, unless it's possible to amuse ourselves for a full day outside the parks.
I'm getting £422 (plus £15.50 booking fee) per family for a basic DLP hotel for 4 nights over a weekend in March including park tickets and breakfast.Trying to be a man is a waste of a woman0 -

thats a good price (you can shave £20 off it if you change the room type too) - you're not going to get it cheaper staying offsite including park passes, as you'll have to pay for park entry for everyone except the 1-year old. You could book the 4 nights, with the correct check-in date, and come home a day early if 3 nights and 4 days would suit you better than 4 nights and 5 days.0 -
Thanks so much balletshoes. Have sent the info over to the others........... will see what they say!Trying to be a man is a waste of a woman0

Never been to DLP before.. what's the best way to do it?
We are staying in a holiday park 20km from DLP, right opposite a train to take us there, so getting there is sorted.
I was thinking of getting tickets for 2 days (of out week, want to see Paris as well) do I book them before we go? 1 adult and 1 child. And the 1 adult (me) is useless at booking holidays, and sorting stuff out. First time I've ever done it by myself!0 -
Just returned from our first trip to DLP and wanted to feedback some info/tips....
* bought child's annual Dream pass off company on eBay as left too late to use Promoparcs/CEMultiavantages. Cost £89 arrived next day and had no problems getting in or swapping up fro Anjual passport when at Disney.
*tried to purchase adult dream pass at £165 but he had none left so paid for day ticket and then difference up to €199 at the Annual passport office (to the right of the castle before Discoveryland area)
* Paid €30 to park our campervan overnight and facilities were fine. Water, waste disposal, hot free showers and toilets all available. With the Annual passports we can now park (any vehicle) for free.
* stayed in Explorers Hotel for 2 nights (break from camper and wasn't sure of facilites overnight at Disney so knew brekkie and showers at hotel). Breakfast gets very busy later on in the morning - take small flask/travel cup/ bottle in and fill up for drinks en route to Park. Most people were wrapping up or filling sandwich boxes with bits to take in with them.
Pool was brilliant for older children but not so for little ones. No lifeguard so please watch your children, lots of running and no one seemed bothered.
Rooms were basic but beds were comfortable. :-)
* Get in early 8-10 to Disney on Annual passports if you can, shuttle buses from hotels/village drop you right outside security check so use them, god send for tired legs. Head straight for busy rides, Buzz, Dumbo, etc....
* you dont get discount in McDonalds in the Village (area between two parcs that anyone can access) but food there is a darn sight cheaper than Disney related outlets.
* we ate in the ParksideDiner, New York hotel one evening for dinner. Reservations essential and you can make one from ANY restaurant ŵithin Disneyland/Disney Studios. They were very friendly and helpful, provided a candle as was hubby's birthday, really lovely touch.
* we also ate at the fast food outlets in Studio 1 in Disney Studios, hotdog outlet in Disneyland, cookies from Victorias Restaurant, all with 10% off with annual passports.
* fireworks are on at 11PM! Every night so stay late and watch as brilliant. Even if you don't make the fireworks, stay late as lots of rides stay open till 10pm
* we saw more characters and met for pics in Disney Studios
* find your spot for both parcs parades about an hour before if you want to be at the front.
* we used free buggy rental for both 4 & 2 yr old ( free with annual passport) all the time but would probably take our own buggy next time as walk from parc to car park was a killer.
*did 3 1/2 days so passes well worth it.
Can't wait to go again. :j:j:j0 -

yes, definitely get your tickets before you go, gate price for DLP is stupidly expensive.
When are you going?0 -
We leave UK on Sunday, were thinking of going the Tuesday and Wed (20th, 21st Aug) - two days will be enough, right?0

yes, 2 full days should be fine.
You'll either need to book tickets where they can be sent to you straightaway, or tickets you can print off at home - like the ticketnet.fr site tickets -

have a look at fnac, attractiontix, travelrepublic, expedia etc as well.0 -

Can anyone suggest a good meeting point as I am meeting a friend in Disney parks? Is there a point near Central Plaza anyone can suggest so we don't miss each other in the crowds?
is it a bad idea to take my smart phone inside with me? (or are they safe lockers for roller coasters to store it?)0
