We stayed in the Cheyenne last year, around mid December, and we are going again this year :) Cheyenne is pretty basic but has everything you need, and our 3year old loves the cowboy theme.
We only used the shuttle bus once, as it was much more simple to walk to the park. Takes about 10 minutes.

It is cold in December so layer up! :xmassmile

Thanks Rosie. What was the theming like at the Cheyenne last year?

I have never been to Disney and no literally nothing about how to go about finding the best deals etc. I'm not sure if I'm posting this in the right place (please feel free to move if not) but I would love some advice. My 10yo daughter is desperate to visit before the end of the 20th Ann celebrations. We are hoping to get over to France for a couple of weeks this summer and thought we could tag a day at Disney on to the beginning or end of our trip. Can anyone give me some idea where to go for the best deals on tickets (We are 2 adults and 2 chn age 10 & 15) and is it feasible to drive to the park or do we need to book a hotel etc. I would be so very grateful for ANY advice. I keep trawling through these posts but am getting myself more and more confused. We are on quite a tight budget so don't want to spend the earth but, equally, don't want our DD to miss out on something that she really wants to see (she doesn't ask for much!). Thank you in advance to anyone who can help.

In summer the parks open at 10am and close at 11.30pm after the Dreams show over the castle (you dont want to miss this its the highlight of the DLP day). So whether you can drive it really depends on how far away you are staying from DLP.

For one~day park tickets have a look on fnac, ticketnet.fr and cemultiavantages. you might also find a good price on the french version of the official DLP site. sort out your park tickets asap as they may need to be posted out to you.

if you need a hotel nearby for 1 night it doesnt need to be a disney one, there are hundreds of hotels and apartments in the area.
  • Hi All,

Hope someone can help. I know that there was a free half board meal plan offer on that expired a few weeks ago. I'm looking to book Davy Crockett for the end of August and know that the current deal is 25% off - is it worth waiting to see if something better comes up or should I just book at this price?

Or, if I were to go for the annual passes and stay off site, does anyone know of a good cheap mobile home site?

Children are aged 1 and 3, so would prefer the flexibility of a mobile home.

    Thanks x x

Hi, we are looking to visit DLP during the Christmas school holidays and I'm rather overwhelmed by all the information! We are not on a strict budget, and are happy to pay a bit extra if it will make our lives easier. We won't be coming back a very long time!

We will be two families: 2 x adults plus a 5yo. 2 x adults plus 5 yo, 3yo and newborn.

We'll be going via Eurostar as we live close to Ebbsfleet. Is it cheaper to book transport direct with Eurostar or with the hotel booking?

Exactly how awesome is the Disneyland hotel? Is it worth the extra money for the location? I'm torn between this, the New York, or possibly Santa Fe for the budget price. The New York seems a lot closer for not that much money than the Santa Fe? Plus an ice rink... With very small children, will it be worth it for being able to pop in and out etc?

Also activities. My DS would love a character breakfast/meal, and he loves Cars. The 5 year old girl loves everything princess. What would be the easiest way to see do this? With a toddler and newborn in tow we don't want to be queueing for long.

What other things would we need to book?

    Thanks!

in Summer, I'd do annual passes and stay offsite - I've seen recommendations for Berny Riviere and Le Chen Gris sites, both are within easy daily travelling distance of DLP.

Or, if you have your own mobile home/campervan, you can park at the Disneyland main car park itself, they allow and have designated parking spaces for overnight mobile homes/campervans.

You are unlikely to get a better offer now for onsite in August, 25% is the most you're likely to see as a discount.

definitely book direct with Eurostar - and phone them now, because they will be releasing Christmas dates soon and you'll need to book them as soon as they become available, to get the cheapest prices.

The DLH is awesome at Christmas - if you can afford it, I'd say go for the DLH. Its located right at the entrance to the park gates, you can walk from your room to the park in less than 2 minutes if you get a room near a hotel exit :). With such little ones, I'd discount the Santa Fe at Christmas to be honest, if the weather is inclement you won't want to walk to and from the parks and the shuttle buses are a nightmare if you have buggies. So I'd either do DLH or HNY (you can easily walk from there down through the Village to the parks and back in about 10 minutes). The ice rink is not real ice, its not that great to be honest. Nice to look at though.

Also activities. My DS would love a character breakfast/meal, and he loves Cars. The 5 year old girl loves everything princess. What would be the easiest way to see do this? With a toddler and newborn in tow we don't want to be queueing for long.

Hmm, no Cars characters around at DLP for character meals. No Princesses either unless its at the Auberge de Cendrillon princess lunch. Character meals are the way to go if you want to meet characters in an unrushed atmosphere, but I wouldn't do character breakfast, do lunch or dinner at Cafe Mickey instead, and don't pay in advance for the set meal. Just order what you want and pay at the end of the meal. The Auberge you don't have choice with, its a set menu for both adults and children.

All the onsite hotels have characters who visit the hotels each morning, and even if you're not staying in that particular hotel, you can go meet the characters there, visit the gift shop, bars, restaurants, all the public areas. This includes the Disneyland Hotel.

You will see the Princesses and their Princes in the daily Magic On Parade in the main park, and some of them are in the daily Cars n Stars parade in the Studios. If your 5-year old little girl wants to meet a Princess, apart from the Auberge de Cendrillon meal, the only other option is the Princess Pavilion in Fantasyland, which is a queued meet n greet.

What other things would we need to book?

    Thanks!

Hope this helps, I can't think of anything else that you'd need to book in advance.

    Hi Balletshoes,

Thanks for the advice. Will check out those sites and see what kind of deal I can get.

    Thanks! :T
  • Hi All,

Hubby and I are considering a holiday to Eurodisney for us and our 3 year old while they have this 25% off deal. We are however overwhelmed by the minefield that is Disney!

    The 25% off deal means:

*Accomodation at a Disney hotel including breakfast (not davey crocket)
*Tickets for both parks each day
*Free fast pass for each of us
*Free magic hours (entry before the general public)

I need feedback on a few things:

    1. Is it's better to go for say 3 days to a more expensive Disney hotel - with things like swimming pool and Disney characters meet and greet at breakfast rather than staying 5 days in an ok place with not that many opportunities to make it special for my daughter? Do you actually spend much time at the hotel?

    2. Has anyone stayed at the partner hotels? If so, what feedback can you share?

    3. Has anyone stayed at the Disney Hotel Cheyenne, Algonquinn’s Explorers (partner hotel) or Vienna Dream Castle Hotel?

    4. I know Disney Florida does a princess make over experience. Does Euro Disney do anything like this?

    5. Does it make sense to do half board or even full board? I’m not sure how much ‘fast food’ type places cost in the parks so not sure if it’s worth it to go half/full board. Also, would you have to go back to your hotel for lunch/dinner if you want to go half or full board?

    6. Has anyone ever stayed at the self catering Davey Crockett resort ? How would you rate it in terms of value for money and entertainment/things to do at the resort.

    Thanks for your feedback

it doesn't matter where you stay, you can visit the public areas of any onsite hotel, including the Disneyland Hotel, to meet the characters there, pay for breakfast, dinner or lunch there, visit the gift shops etc etc. On a 3-day trip I'd be very surprised if you find time to use a swimming pool at DLP. My DLP hotel is literally a place to shower and sleep, I spend almost no time there otherwise.

    2. Has anyone stayed at the partner hotels? If so, what feedback can you share?

    3. Has anyone stayed at the Disney Hotel Cheyenne, Algonquinn’s Explorers (partner hotel) or Vienna Dream Castle Hotel?

yes, I've stayed at all of them. However, if you pick a partner hotel, you don't get access to Extra Magic Hours, unless you have a Dream annual pass or Fantasy annual pass for a park entry ticket. Everyone gets fastpass, this is not an exclusive-to-DLP-hotel-guests only deal.

    4. I know Disney Florida does a princess make over experience. Does Euro Disney do anything like this?

yes they do - at the Disneyland Hotel. You can pop in and reserve a time/day to have your daughter made over.

    5. Does it make sense to do half board or even full board? I’m not sure how much ‘fast food’ type places cost in the parks so not sure if it’s worth it to go half/full board. Also, would you have to go back to your hotel for lunch/dinner if you want to go half or full board?

it makes no sense at all to do any kind of dining plan at DLP - there are many restaurants in the resort which are not included in the dining plan, and you don't save much, if any, money, buying a dining plan in advance.

    6. Has anyone ever stayed at the self catering Davey Crockett resort ? How would you rate it in terms of value for money and entertainment/things to do at the resort.

I can't help with the Davy Crockett Ranch, I've never stayed there.
