I'd wait to be honest. But if you love Disney and you want to go, nothing wrong in the slightest in using your 18-month old as a good excuse.

If i was driving, i would camp for €30 a night as the site is 6miles from the park.
I would also pick up annual passes0 -
Does anyone have any suggestions on the best place to watch the two parades and the Dreams show? Also, how long in advance do we need to get in place? We're there 13th-16th May which should (hopefully) be a quiet time!
Thanks.0 -

Thanks.
the parades are easy - they put up ropes along the parade route, so in the main park the quietest place is up in Fantasyland near or opposite the Bella Notte restaurant, or anywhere near there down to the turrets at the entrance to Fantasyland. 15 minutes beforehand will easily get you a ropeside spot there.
In the studios, again, its easy, and you'll get a ropeside spot pretty much anywhere on the route about 10 minutes before Cars n Stars begins. It usually starts between Flying Carpets ride and Animagique, so if you take a spot at the rope there, you can head off to the rides as soon as the parade passes you by.
Dreams is harder, especially if you have young children, because everyone stands for Dreams, which means young children really struggle to see. If you can stand it, it might be an idea for one of your group to stake out a bench somewhere in the front of castle area, maybe an hour or so before Dreams begins. Then the rest of your party can join you with 15 or so minutes to go before the start of Dreams, and the kids can stand on the bench to see (you can stand behind them to hold on to them).
Don't go any further back than the information stand at the top of Main Street for Dreams, there are too many trees/lampposts etc back there for you to get a really good view of Dreams.0 -

Thanks.
we stayed there in december and we had a kettle0 -
Hello again fabulous people and especially brilliant Balletshoes.
Just a couple of weeks to our trip to DLRP. Very excited now! We're there Weds 22nd - Sun 26th May via Eurostar.
A few random questions....
Looking forward to seeing the Disney Dreams show but I know it will be late for our little ones (1, 4 and 5). Is it on at the same time each night? Afternoon sleep will definately be required that day.
Are there any particular spots on the parade routes that are good to wait at? Our friends little girls got to dance with Prince Charming when they went and when we went in 2011 there was a small roped off area at the front of stars and cars for children who were dressed up. Any ideas that could help us?
Will I be able to borrow an Iron at Hotel New York?
Is there any Wifi available apart from at McDonalds? I'm wondering if there will be any way of accessing the internet and I don't want to pay expensive roaming charges.
Are there currently any shareholders promotions that I have missed? I know there has been an offer for the restaurant at HNY (we're staying there) but I don't think it's valid while we're there :O(

This forum has been excellent. Thanks balletshoes for all the information you've posted. I've gone for the cheap annual passes via the french website and hoping I'll take the wife and 2 kids to DLP in the last week of July.
Could I ask for some advice on hotels please? I'm not sure what I'm meant to be looking for - I get that there are hotels in the park which are expensive and those near the station are cheaper..but not certain which websites I should be looking at for hotels. Thanks for any advice.'You see the coefficient of the linear is juxtapositioned by the haemoglobin of the atmospheric pressure in the country..c'mon gajive join the party' :dance:0 -

how long do you want to stay for, and which annual passes did you go for?
I usually start on travelrepublic and expedia (occasionally trivago too). Pick Disneyland Paris as the location, then filter the results by distance. Ignore the onsite Disney hotels, they are ridiculously expensive, and if you have Fantasy or Dream annual passes, you get all the advantages with those that an onsite hotel gives you.
If you want an apartment instead of a hotel, you will need to look at val d'europe or bussy st george, which are nearby and easy to get to and from Disney, on the very frequent RER trains.
DISboards is a great forum for getting advice on the accommodation around DLP, there are hotel/apartment reviews on there too -

yes, each night at the official park closing time, Dreams begins then.

the parades have all changed since 2011 - no guests get to interact in the parades with the characters now, and the Princes and Princesses in the main park parade are in carriages now, they don't walk or dance. Its still great to see though, and if your child is noticeable I'm sure they'll get a high-5 or blown a kiss from the characters as they pass by.
Cars n Stars is no longer a parade with a show, its just a drivepast, so again, anywhere on the parade route will be fine for your family.
Will I be able to borrow an Iron at Hotel New York?
yes

the public areas of the Disneyland Hotel now has free wifi, the HNY is next on the list to get this in the public areas but I don't know if it will be done by the end of this month (check at reception when you check in). In the Village, Starbucks, McDonalds and Earl of Sandwich all have free wifi. I checked the range of the Starbucks and McDs earlies this year - they both extend a fair bit outside their own areas.
Are there currently any shareholders promotions that I have missed? I know there has been an offer for the restaurant at HNY (we're staying there) but I don't think it's valid while we're there :O(

I don't think theres any special shareholders promotions going on at the moment, I haven't seen anything for a couple of months now.0 -
Thanks for your help again Balletshoes. I'm aiming for 4 days with the fantasy annual passes (I guess I need that much time with the crowds expected at the end of July). Apartments out of the question..so hotels only. Wife liked the pictures of the Marriott but I think the costs are comparable to the onsite ones'You see the coefficient of the linear is juxtapositioned by the haemoglobin of the atmospheric pressure in the country..c'mon gajive join the party' :dance:0
