Hey guys many thanks for responding!

Yes I did notice the Dream Castle hotel actually and what you've said about being able to visit the Disneyland hotel and still being able to do all the activities even without staying there makes me think staying in cheaper accomadation would be a much better idea!

My daughter will be 9 when we go which is the perfect age IMO.

I was thinking about driving actually, as we only live in Essex, then we could hop on a ferry which seems to the cheapest option
    .

if I lived in Essex I'd be at DLP way more often than I am, with annual passes they would get a serious bashing over the year :rotfl:.

there are quite a lot of blackout dates for Fantasy annual passes in December this year, but if you are going for 3 days you could avoid them -

    "December 3rd, 7th, 8th, 14th, 28th, 29th"

with cemultiavantages you could buy a fantasy annual pass for yourself, 125 euros, and get your daughter's for only 35 euros (so that would be around 185 euros including admin fee and postage). This gives you discounts in the shops and restaurants at DLP, access to extra magic hours in the main park, and you might even be able to use the passes again in the following year before their expiry, for another birthday treat :).

Book the eurotunnel yourself, (cdsmiler is right, you can pay for the eurotunnel with tesco clubcard points), and book the Dream Castle (or Magic Circus, they are sister hotels at DLP) through the likes of travelrepublic, expedia, hotels.com, trivago etc etc.

Actually saying that, if I drove it would take me the best part of 5 hours so maybe i'll get the train from London instead!!

What exactly is a fantasy pass blackout? Does that mean you won't be aloud to use it to get in? I was thinking of going on the 6th Dec which means I'd only be taking her out of school for the day.

I did like the look of the Newport Bay Club hotel which is HALF the price of the Disneyland Hotel!! How far is the Dream Castle hotel away from the actual park as it doesn't look like it's in the park?

    Thank you again! :)

yes, a blackout date is a date you can't use the annual pass for park entry. So if you go on 6th, you would need a Dream annual pass - again, from cemultiavantages 155 euros for you, 35 euros for your daughter's dream annual pass.

The Newport Bay Club is very hit and miss regarding standards of the rooms, because its a huge hotel (used to be the largest hotel in Europe) and it needs to be refurbished.

its located, with 3 other associated hotels, at the end of the road where the onsite hotels begin. It has a free shuttle bus to and from the parks all day every day, just like the onsite hotels.

    Thank you again! :)

you can walk to the parks from all the onsite hotels (the Newport Bay and Sequoia Lodge are about 10 minutes walk), but in December you'd really need to use the shuttle buses if you choose the Dream Castle (its about a 25-minute walk away from the park gates).

Also, if you are considering the Eurostar, phone them now, they often sell their seats over the phone before they release them online, and the sooner you buy your Eurostar seats, the cheaper they are.

eta - Disney are bringing out their next longish-term offer tomorrow, for arrivals up to the beginning of November. So if you're thinking of staying at one of the onsite hotels, I wouldn't book anything at all just now, the winter offers won't be out covering December until August or later. By all means sort out your Eurostar as soon as you can though.

Wow there's so many things to think about!! You seem like a DLP expert!!

The only reason I was thinking of booking now was because this site www.eurodisneydirect.com is alot cheaper than the actual Dinsney site. It seems to me that this site somehow gets a limited amount of rooms at a cheaper rate which if you get in there quick, could be a good deal.

For example, checking in at the Newport Bay Club Hotel on Thurs 5th Dec 2013 for 2 nights and 3 days in a bog standard room works out at £550 BUT, they only have 4 rooms left. This incs Breakfast and theme park tickets.

If you do the same search on the official site http://www.disneyholidays.co.uk/ packages START from £701!!!

What do you think lady Balletshoes!? :)

On a side note, the official Disney website - disneylandparis.co.uk - currently don't have any dates past the beginning of November (yet they did 30th April and before!!). I'm assuming it's because they haven't activated the post 30th April offers yet! So, nikmondo, your dates arn't available on disneylandparis.co.uk yet. But I THINK the prices were similar to the quotes you're getting from eurodisneydirect.co.uk if my memory serves me correctly! I'd wait a few days, see what happens on the official disney site with offers, and then make a decision.

Has anyone else on here ever used eurodisneydirect or disneyholidays??

I'll be honest, I'm not fond of the Newport Bay Club - out of all the 7 onsite hotels at DLP, its my least favourite. I just think its too big, and its more of a summer-type hotel. As I said before, it could do with the rooms being refurbished as well, but thats not on the cards this year.

Theres also the price. If the price you were seeing (the £700) doesn't have any discount offers attached to it, it will later on. It could go down to 40% off.

Also, Expedia typically sell the onsite DLP hotels room only for way less than Disney does, in winter season (so from November through to March each year). They may not start advertising these rates on Expedia until around September though (as I recall, the Sequoia Lodge and Newport Bay Club were around £115 per room per night on Expedia for the winter just past).

So if you do prefer to stay onsite, you could do it in December for around £415, including having Dream annual passes each (bought through cemultiavantages), compared with a package through Disney.

Did I include the annual passes discounts and advantages link before? Can't remember -

We've been to DLP a couple of times already and this year we were thinking about trying Parc Asterix as the children are a bit older... any ideas/suggestions or should we stick with DLP?

Hoping someone can help - would people recommend EuroDisney for a toddler (currently 18months, thinking of going in Nov) or is it better to wait?!
