I just thought I'd share this on the forum.. Myself, partner and 10 year old have booked to go to DLP at Easter as we all have time off. I will be driving as my fuel is basically free and the car is a company one..

I investigated staying on the DLP resort and the lowest cost hotel was one of the two "mickeys" like Santa Fe .. for two days at the park (arrival day and leaving day) with one night stay came out at £652 without travel costs (Eurotunnel or Ferry)... bargain!... not

So I did a bit of investigating and here are my conclusions...

One night @ Santa Fe with 2 days in park (02nd April) - £652

    B&B hotel (6km from Disneyland) €199 (£175) for 3 nights inc breakfast
    B&B hotel (6km from Disneyland) €133 (£117) for 2 nights inc breakfast
...it has a free car park too!

Travel Republic had the cheapest park tickets....
    Disneyland 2 park tickets 4 days for price of 3 = £351
    Disneyland 2 part tickets 2 days - £280

Eurotunnel = £120 (short stay saver £60 each way)

    Grand Total
    B&B 2 nights + Park 2 days + Eurotunnel = £517
    B&B 3 nights + Park 2 days + Eurotunnel = £575
    B&B 3 nights + Park 4 days + Eurotunnel = £646

    Santa Fe 1 night + Park 2 days + Eurotunnel = £797

I have ended up doing the 3 nights at the B&B and 2 days at the park as this gives us some time to arrive and relax on the first day and and some time to do some shopping in Paris and fill the boot up with cheap booze on the last day... but it was a hard choice given 4 days at the park is only £71 more!!!

There are toll roads on the way down to Paris that would need to be paid (about €20 each way in total)

My verdict: What a rip off staying at the park!! for your two days at the park you probably get just over a day in total with arriving late on the first day and leaving early for the trip home on the second day!!!. and it is really expensive .. stay for 4 days and pay £150 less.

Yep i agree ebenezer ~ in april a one night stay onsite is not going to be a bargain.
  • Hi All

I posted on this forum some time ago and had some great replied from some very helpful people. We're now pretty much confirmed on our dates, heading out late on the 20th November and home on the 24th. My Sister in Law was of the opinion that we should only have 2 days at the park but I feel we may need more, I've read a few posts on here suggesting 3 or 4 days.

There are basically 3 families, Me my wife and our 4 year old. Another family of 5, kids are 8, 14, and 18 and also my mother in law and father in law.

It's for my sister in law's 40th birthday, she's keen to stay on resort. So does anyone have any good ideas or deals??

Happy to fly from Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff, or East Midlands at a push.

Looking forward to hearing some ideas. Many thanks, Ricky.

if you want to stay onsite, you're looking at 3 rooms onsite (all standard rooms onsite take a maximum of 4 guests per room). Unless theres an offer on the official DLP website just now for at least 40% off or 2 nights free when you stay 4 nights, I wouldn't book your hotel just now.

If there is a 2 nights free deal, or 40% off, compare the following -

try a one-adult package (plus in your room your 4-year old because they will be free) in each of the 3 rooms, and see what the price is.

For everyone else, look at buying discounted annual passes (they cost 125 euros each for fantasy annual passes from cemultiavantages or promoparcs). It is possible that if you put everyone in your party on the package booking, that it would be more expensive than doing it the buying annual passes way. If this is the case, get the annual passes for everyone but the 4 booked in on the package, because you get discounts on food and souvenirs in the parks with annual passes, and they can be used for park entry for one year from the time you get them made permanent at DLP (on your first day at the park). Then you can add all the annual pass holders to the onsite rooms you've booked on the package, when you arrive at your hotel to check in. There is no problem doing this.

For November, Expedia will probably sell the Cheyenne and Santa Fe rooms for around £65 per room per night without park tickets (but this is generally only for weekday dates, not weekends). So you could also price that up with all of you having annual passes (your 4-year old would get a free annual pass if you buy an adult one through cemultiavantages or promoparcs).

try skyscanner for flights to paris cdg from your local airports, then go to the individual airlines and see what prices you're looking at for November.

Hi, need some help please. My husband died nearly six months ago and I am considering taking my 11 yo son and nearly 9 yo daughter to DLP for their first visit. I had in m head that staying on site was the best thing to do but after reading a lot of pages on this and other threads feel that this might not be the case. I am ok about the Eurostar as the travel option and am planning on requesting permission to take them w/c 3rd June for 3-4 nights, can someone please advise best next steps? Many thanks
  • Hi there

We are camping just outside DLP from 1-12th July 2013. I was planning to get 4 Fantasy passes (2 adults and 2 kids). I have seen these for 125 Euros each on the promoparcs website and wondered if I should buy these now or if I should get these nearer the time.

Also am I right in thinking that I need to pay a joining fee for promoparcs and that the tickets will then be posted to me?

    Thanks

Yes with Promoparks you do pay a joining fee and delvery but they are sent special delivery and they have to be signed for.
I am sure Ballet shoes will confirm (or not as the case ) that you get a free child pass with each adult one??
  • Thank you Balletshoes. You really are a credit to the forum with all of the advice you offer.

Just a very quick question. You mention booking rooms for 1 adult and then adding all of the others when we arrive. What's the crack with this? Will the hotel not refuse us as there are more people than the booking or does it not work like this?

yes you do - but the child has to be aged under 7 when you go to DLP to be able to use a free child's pass. If your child is aged 7 or older, you have to buy an annual pass for them.
