Hi there
Avid user of MSE but first time posting looking for advice. Myself, hubby & two kiddies aged 4 & 2 will be heading off in Mar (got good deal 4n / 5days staying at NY £629 - travel paid for with tesco vouchers).
My question is in relation to booking the restaurants. My little girl is princess mad so I was hoping to book the dinner with princesses, then Blue Lagoon, Mickey Cafe & unsure for the other booking. We are half board so I know I will have to pay the extra for dinner with princess. My main question is regarding booking times & restaurant closures. We would want to go see the Disney dreams every night so with those of you that have been there recently, what would be the best time to book dinner to make sure we see the show. Also what is the latest time we can book for Blue Lagoon.
Also do we have to book for 'meet Mickey Mouse'.
Lastly, I'm thinking of the Buffallo Bill show (paying the extra in top if our vouchers) - should I.
Any general info for a first timer would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

The Blue Lagoon won't be open until mid-March, as the Pirates of the Caribbean ride (where the restaurant is located) is being refurbished until then.

March park hours haven't been released yet, so no-one knows yet when Dreams will be on your trip dates.

Meet Mickey Mouse is a regular meet n greet in Fantasyland in the main park, you can't book for that, you just keep an eye on the waiting times posted outside the venue and when its not too bad you join the queue :).

Hi all, am posting for a friend as she's not on mse, see if any1 can get cheaper quote,
3/12/13 for 3 nights / 4 days staying Cheyenne flying from Newcastle with air France, including shuttle transfers, for 2 adults and 2 kids age 4y & 7y.
Only wants to fly would do another airport if it was cheaper to make it worthwhile.

i think its too early for the good hotel deals to have come out for December at the moment Durham.

If your friend is sure of what dates she wants, and can find cheap flights (try leeds/bradford, Edinburgh and Glasgow for flights to Paris CDG as well as Newcastle), they might want to book the cheap flights and wait for a good hotel deal to come up. As a guideline, as long as she's going midweek in early December, she could get the Cheyenne hotel without park tickets for around £60 per room per night on Expedia (they don't start selling for those dates until around September each year though), so that would be £180 total for the 3 nights, plus 3 annual passes (4-year olds would be free) at around £330 = £510 roughly. I would imagine at that time of year a package would be around the same price, but you never know, a good offer could come out, theres still ages to go yet :).

just returned was a nice trip, my son loved it. i was not to impressed though - not a great deal of rides (less then i expected) and the big ones were closed due to the weather - Indiana Jones, pirates of Caribbean, dumbo rides, some snow white river ride thing, and the steam boats and big roller coaster in that section. I did not see any mention when booking that rides would close if too icy, so is there a compensation policy or anything i can request? or was it just a waste of over £600 imo (in my sons he had a great trip, met characters and went on a few rides and doesn't grasp the concept of money yet)

you could certainly email DLP to let them know your disappointment -

'DLP.GUEST.COMMUNICATION@disney.com'

I don't think theres much chance of compensation except for goodwill though, I'm fairly sure the official brochure and website are peppered with get-out clauses about ride closures. There is also a scheduled closure list on the official website which is published a couple of months in advance.

No harm in trying though :).
• yes they will - the reason its only up to July at the moment is because you only have 6 months to make them into permanent annual passes at DLP once you've bought them, so its too early for an August trip to buy them yet :)
Thanks again balletshoes for this info, regarding the hotel think we will go for the explorers can get it for £515 at the moment, which isnt too bad considering the time we are going, unless you know how to get it cheaper,I am hunting around at the moment. You have been veru helpfull:j
