We're going on 8th April returning on the evening train on the 13th. Probably the 4 days starting from the Tuesday 9th.

the only blackout date for a Fantasy Annual Pass in April 2013 is 1st April, so a Fantasy pass would work out cheaper, for 4 days, over any other kind of park ticket. In addition, your 4-year old would get a free pass if you buy the other 3 annual passes through cemultiavantages or promoparcs. They are currently 125 euros each from either of those sites, more expensive (and no free one for your 4-year old) if you buy from DLP themselves.
  • was looking to go to DLP in feb and was wondering if anyone knew cheapest place to book for 2 adults and 2 children.
  • Long time lurker here, dont think I've posted too much (if at all!). Anyway, am looking at going to DLP with my family, parents and brother (seven of us in all - three adults, two OAPs, two kids, aged four and seven) from May 23rd-27th (five nights). Am currently looking at Expedia deals at the Newport Bay (with a lake view) and direct with Disney at the Sequoia Lodge (the Expedia cheapie there has now sold out as I was too slow!), as they're coming out at pretty much the same price (around £1450 or thereabouts for all of us, not including transportation). From reading this forum and elsewhere I see the Sequoia Lodge has recently renovated rooms, but the Newport Bay possibly has larger ones, although the hotel seems to be a little tired. I know lots of you here are experts on everything Disney, can anyone offer advice as to which to pick, and will the price get any cheaper than that?

My parents are also thinking about going for a meal plan deal (only the cheapest one), is this worth it?

We'd also like to go see the Buffalo Bill show one evening, again from reading around, it seems to be a lot cheaper to book this via one of the French ticketing agencies, but from checking their sites, they only go up until the end of March right now, I guess later dates will be added some time soonish?

Thanks in advance for any replies (hoping I get some!)! :T

Sequoia Lodge and Newport Bay rooms are similar in size, the hotels have similar facilities, and the Sequoia Lodge is looking very good at the moment because its newly refurbed, so I'd pick that one over the Newport Bay Club. As to whether it will get cheaper, if you've got the 2 nights free deal, over 5 nights thats around 33% off, so its unlikely to go much cheaper than that for that time of year I'd have thought.

no, none of them are, they save you no money, they restrict where and what you can eat with them, and your whole booking would have to take the same meal plan, for the whole duration of your stay.

yes, they will be added nearer the time of your visit, probably in March/early April.

Thanks in advance for any replies (hoping I get some!)! :T

    hope this helps.

My view on Disney hotels with a lake view :

You get up, have breakfast, visit the parks, come back to the hotel (possibly in the dark) to sleep. Don't consider paying extra for a view !

I'd go for the cheapest. We've stayed in the Dream Castle and the Santa Fe, both were good, i would stay at either again. From the two, i'd say the Santa Fe was better.

However, not in a rush to go back as i was disappointed with DLP, but thats just my opinion.
  • Thanks for the quick responses! I do favour the Sequoia Lodge, probably because of the facelift more than anything. With regards to the prices though, the Newport Bay is coming in at £1438 with the Sequoia Lodge totalling £1566 or so, is it worth £130 more?

I've had a look around the usual suspects to see if I can get this cheaper - and I can't :). So in your shoes, I'd book the Newport Bay Club at the £1438 price (quickly, as it looks like most of the hotels have sold out of their 2 nights free deal for you dates already).
Call the hotel about a week before you go, and ask for rooms as close to reception as you can get, and interconnecting if you'd like (in all the onsite hotels most of the rooms can be interconnecting). The hotel is huge and has large wings either side of the main reception building, which can mean a loooong walk to get to your room if you're out in the wings.

Thanks for your help balletshoes, will check out those sites.

And a thanks from me too, balletshoes, I have gone for the Newport Bay deal now and just booked it. I may well be back on this board nearer to our travel date with more questions!
