That's brilliant, thanks for that. Year passes may well be the way forward.
We'll probably look towards the end of November so I need to aim to avoid the 30th which should be easy enough as it's a saturday. I may suggest to the family that we go for either the week commencing the 18th or the 25th November.0 -
Hi.
Looking at going to DLP on 21st Oct to 25th Oct. 4 adults and 2 kids (2 and 5 years old). My wife wants to stay in a disney hotel so that she and the 2 girls can have a Charater breakfast and get in the park a bit earlier. Any advise as how to get the best deal would be appriciated. OR how to change her mind on the disney hotel and breakfast.
For info i've had a quick look on the DLP website and for Santa Fe hotel, flights (man to CDG), transfers, half board and a charater breakfast the quote is just over £2600. I've no idea if this is good.
Thanks in advance.0 -

okay - for a start, anyone can book a character breakfast, you don't have to be staying at a Disney hotel to do that.
Extra Magic Hours are given to you if you either stay at a Disney onsite hotel, or have Fantasy or Dream annual passes. There are no blackout dates for 21st to 25th October this year for the Fantasy annual pass, so if you consider staying offsite but very nearby to DLP, and buy Fantasy annual passes for all the adults instead of park tickets, it could work out a fair bit cheaper than onsite. Your 5-year old would get a free annual pass because you are buying others, if you buy them from cemultiavantages or promoparcs. They cost 125 euros each at the moment from either of those sites, they are more expensive from Disney and you don't get a free child's one with Disney either.
Have a look at booking your own flights direct with the airline, don't go through Disney for that.
For offsite hotels without park tickets included check trivago, expedia, travelrepublic, alpharooms, etc etc for Disneyland Paris then change the filter to distance to give you the close offsite hotels.
You'll have transfers between the airport in Paris and your hotel at/near DLP to sort out, at the most this would be 170 euros return (it could be cheaper, but thats the VEA coach price so its an okay figure to work on when you're costing up a trip).
Oh, and don't bother with half board, or any dining plan, at DLP. If you want to budget in advance for your meals just put the money on a pre-paid travecard and take that with you to pay for your meals while you are at DLP, far less restrictive than the dining plan vouchers.0 -
just had a quick look around the sites bluepowell - flights with jet2.com are around £750 for all of you for your dates, around £650 if you can go Sunday 20th to Thursday 24th instead. There is also a discount code on the jet2.com website which seems to give 10% off that price if you use the code when booking.
You also have airfrance and flybe who do the Manchester to Paris CDG flights.
170 euros (around £140) for your transfers between Paris CDG airport and your hotel.
On Expedia I can see the Santa Fe room only for £1174, and the Explorers (great hotel for children, it has a fantastic swimming pool) for £870. The Explorers is very close to DLP, and has a free shuttle bus to the parks all day every day, from around 6am until midnight usually.
4 Fantasy annual passes at 125 euros each (plus a one-off joining fee for cemultiavantages or promoparcs) is around £430.
So, if you do it all individually, you could do it and still enjoy everything that DLP has to offer, for around £2,100 (and with annual passes you get discounts on food and souvenirs while you are at DLP). It will be about £100 less if you can go on Sunday rather than Monday, and you might find the hotels cheaper on other websites. Oh, and don't forget cashback on everything!

He wants to go as soon as possible - anyone from the north east go down to catch the eurostar? there's a ticket offer in the northumberland gazette for cheap train travel.£216 saved 24 October 20140 -

Brilliant.
Thanks for that advise.
One more thing. is going on eurostar a good option from the nothwest to cut down on travel costs? Or is it a similar price due to having to get to london in the first place.
Thanks again.0 -

can they not take a later indirect Eurostar on Monday 28th? It adds maybe an hour to their journey time from London to DLP, but the change at Lille is straightforward, and its usually cheaper on the indirect service compared with the direct one.0 -

I can't really compare, I'm in the Midlands and to make the most out of a trip to DLP by Eurostar I'd have to factor in trains down to London the night before, an overnight stay in a hotel nearby, and then trains home again after Eurostar back to London on our last day. I have had a look at doing this, but its more expensive for me doing it this way (even with a family railcard and a £40 hotel for the night) over flying from East Midlands or Luton and paying for a transfer from the airport in Paris to my DLP hotel.
Could you drive there? For a party of 6 that would be by far the cheapest way of doing it, you could take the Ferry or Eurotunnel.0
