Hi guys, why is it cheaper to book on the French Disney site? thought we were all part of Europe now!
Is it ok to book via the French site with a UK bank card? anyone had any problems ? if so what happened?
Could i book 1 adult and 2x children both 8 years old, and then add the other adult(my partner) when we check in and pay the French taxes? then buy an annual pass before we go for my partner?
Is it cheaper to book Eurostar direct from London to Disney or London to Lille then buy tickets to Disney from Lille?
I have never been before so a total novice here, would love to take the kids at Xmas but think its a to expensive for us so looking at next year.
Thanks0 -

its cheaper because different countries get different offers from Disney at different times of the year. As above in my reply to MrMoo123, its fine to book on the French site with a UK card.

if the children are free in your package booking, yes, you could do it that way (they will not be free for most of the year though, its traditionally only January to March, or when Disney give a special offer for under-12s free).

its cheaper to buy tickets from London to Disney via Lille (the indirect service). These fares are only available around 12 weeks before travel though. Its one fare you pay, you don't need to buy extra tickets for the Lille-DLP journey.

Thanks Balletshoes, much appreciated, yes the children are under 12 and we aere looking at going in March as it works out quite cheap.
Thanks again.
One other thing, can you only get the French price via the French website or can you get the French price over the phone when calling Disney?

You get the price on the French version of the DLP website. On the home page if you look at the bottom of the page, you can change your country. Change it to France-l'autres regions (or something like that) and you'll see the French prices.
If you call Disney to book, you'll get quoted the UK prices because they know you are calling from the UK.0 -
Quick question please....Going to DLP with my wife for her birthday in November...
Land about 5:30pm on the friday and have a lunchtime flight home on the monday (via CDG).
What is the best way to get from airport to hotel? (staying in santa fe). I have seen the VEA and it seems about £70 for a return ticket but I can't work out how long it takes, and where you get the bus from0 -

Don't take the VEA - its the slowest method of transfer (and the most disorganised).
Either take the TGV (look on rail europe for timetable and prices, the DLP station is called Marne-la-Vallee), or a shared shuttle with rstransports.
If you do decide to take the VEA, from your landing gate you'll have to find the VEA stop at your terminal, and a shuttle coach will pick you up there and take you to the main VEA bus stop in CDG, where you board the red VEA coach to DLP, which then drops off at all the Disney hotels in turn. It takes around one hour plus on the VEA for the journey, once you are on the VEA coach.0 -
is the tgv cheaper than the vea? how long does that take roughly?
Just wary that my french isn't that good and we don't want to get lost in the airport ha ha0 -

Don't worry about lack of French, I don't speak any French and I still manage to find my way around CDG using the TGV.
However, I've just done a quick look on raileurope for your days of the week and times of arrival/departure, and both of those are looking like peak time travel on the TGV (£48 each way total).
Shared shuttle with rstransports would cost you 38 euros total each way.
We usually take a shared shuttle with rstransports (and rarely have to share with anyone else) on the way from CDG to DLP, then the TGV back from DLP to CDG on our last day, because it really only is 10 minutes journey time on the TGV (its around 35-40 minutes by shared shuttle, and its over an hour on the VEA).0 -
Balletshoes thanks so much for your reply, very kind.
Think I am going to look at booking one of the cheaper on-site hotels (Santa Fe or Cheyenne), if you book 3 nights do you get four days at the park or would I need to book another day seperate?
Is there one hotel you think is better then the other?
Also, (Sorry), what is the brekfast like and is it similar in all the Hotels?
Many thanks0 -

you automatically get 4 days park tickets each if you book 3 nights in an onsite hotel through Disney.

I'm a huge Santa Fe fan - but I've stayed in both the Santa Fe and Cheyenne hotels. The Cheyenne is undoubtedly better themed than the Santa Fe - the Cheyenne really does look like an old Wild West town. The rooms in the Santa Fe are being refurbished with Cars movie touches, and they have 2 double beds in them as standard. The Cheyenne has a cowboy theme in the rooms and one double and one set of bunk beds as standard. The bathrooms, restaurants, reception blocks, gift shops, games arcades, luggage store and public toilets are of a similar size and standard in both hotels, and they are the same distance from the parks.

Breakfast is continental in all the hotels, there are no hot options in the 2 hotels you're considering. Cereals, toast, breads, pastries, ham, cheese, spreads, plain yoghurt, hot drinks and milk are available in the hotel. However, if you do fancy treating yourselves to a fantastic breakfast to relax over one morning, you can pay to have breakfast at the Disneyland Hotel even if you're not a guest there.
At the Santa Fe or Cheyenne you can also ask for breakfast in the park instead of breakfast at your hotel. This is free, its a similar standard of continental breakfast compared with your hotel (maybe a bit better choice of yoghurt flavours, fresh fruit salad etc) and its very handy if you can't face eating very early in the morning, because you can have a 9.15am breakfast slot inside the park itself, so you can go into the park for Extra Magic Hours at 8am, do the rides which are open with no queues again and again :rotfl:, then have breakfast in the park itself before the park officially opens to everyone at 10am. You can't book this in advance, you have to ask when you check in at your hotel, and it is subject to availability (it may not be taking place every day when you are there).
Many thanks
