Also, if you'd happily stay offsite in the nearby associated 4star hotels with free shuttle transport to DLP, you could get it even cheaper.

Ok still not booked, I see offers that if you book before the end of this month you save like 30% or something.

I would like to go next March with the misses and our lad of 10 years.

The English site says 30% but if i put the dates into the French site it states 40% saving and works out to about £70 cheaper using http://www.xe.com/ucc/convert/?Amount=378&From=EUR&To=GBP website to work out conversion.

So confused do I book now or wait, will there be more offers nearer the time. Never been before in fact not been abroad for 20 years, doh!!!

    Please help advice needed.

  • oh plenty :D! If you want to stay at the Newport Bay Club, try checking the price for one adult (and both kids as they are free) for your 3 nights/4 days. How much is that?

eta - I don't think its a difference of more than £300 compared to a 3-adult package, so forget that (I had a cunning plan, but it won't save you any money on one trip - although it definitely would if you are considering returning to DLP within one year of your Christmas trip).

You could book on the French version of the DLP site - that is showing the full 40% off for your dates on both the Sequoia Lodge and the Newport Bay Club - Sequoia Lodge is 1089 euros total for you all (around £900), Newport Bay is 1158 euros (around £957). Sequoia Lodge is a much nicer hotel for winter trips, surrounded by woodland, roaring log fires in reception etc etc. And its just be extensively refurbished, the Newport Bay Club is in need of one in places but its not been started yet.

Wow thanks for the tips - for some reason we though the Newport Bay was slightly cheaper then Sequoia Lodge, so happy to stay there instead given that that's cheaper as it's coming in at £871.50 when you do the exchange, so now we are down to a total cost of £1318.50 - a saving of £368.50 :T

One question - is it OK to book using the french website? I read on a few other sites that you must have a UK address and someone had their card blocked for trying to buy tickets on there ?

Anyone have any tips of how to reduce the eurostar cost ?

book now on the French site - if you're getting 40% off (and your son is free at that time of year) you won't get a better price unless a 50% flash sale comes up - and then you run the risk of your dates/choice of hotel not being included. Remember to look at the "change your room type" on the booking, to see if theres a cheaper option on the room in your hotel (Disney always default to the more expensive room type).

If you book now and a flash sale gets you a better price further down the line, you can call Disney and "upgrade" ie change your hotel, add pre-paid meals etc, to get more for the money you originally paid.

its perfectly fine to book on the Disney French site, just don't change the "country" of your residence from France, leave it at France, and input all your other personal details correctly. If you'd feel better, phone your bank first and let them know about the transaction you intend to make.

Eurostar can be cheaper if you change at Lille (a lot of DLP travellers do this) - these fares usually become available around 12 weeks before travel, so if they're not on the Eurostar website now, they should be in the next week or so.

yes, DLP is built for Northern European weather ;). Most of the queue lines are indoors, the parades etc still go on in the rain, there is even a covered walkway in the main park which takes you from the entrance all the way up to the furthest away part of Adventureland/Fantasyland.

There are also indoor shows to see several times a day in the Studios if its absolutely chucking down and you want to stay inside.
You can go visit the Disneyland Hotel even if you're not a guest, they serve afternoon tea in their Cafe Fantasia bar, and from Thursdays through to Sundays in the afternoon (check timings on the information board just inside the hotel door) they also have a great character meet n greet which is usually a lot quieter than any character greet in the park.

But the good news is, the local guests tend to stay away from the parks in very rainy weather, so you put your waterproofs on and get out there and enjoy a quiet park in the rain :D.
  • Just to add about the rain - we were there 2 weeks ago and on the one day it rained. The only things we noticed were closed because of the rain was Dumbo and the boat ride near Casey Jnr. It was noticeable quieter though, an had a great view of the parade!
:p Addicted to Disneyland Paris! :p

    Hi All

Balletshoes - I am amazed at your knowledge, so great of you to help so many folk with this!

I am new to Eurodisney and all concerned with it!

Looking to go next year with my Daughter and Partner (my Daughter will be 3yrs old) and just looking for some general tips to keep cost down please...

We will be going from Ebbsfleet (as live nearby), so is it best to book that seperate?
Is the Eurodisney site generally the cheapest site to book on?
    Best onsite hotel for value?
Booking 'Meet the characters' etc, do you do this before going and on what site?
Sorry for all the questions, compared with you guys I am a novice when it comes to Eurodisney, so Im really grateful for all advice etc.

    Cheers

    Kelly

I'm a self-confessed DLP nut I'm afraid, don't know what I'm going to do when my daughter gets too old to want to come with me :rotfl:!

yes, fares are already out on the Eurostar site until July next year from Ebbsfleet to DLP.

Is the Eurodisney site generally the cheapest site to book on?

generally yes, but you might find the French or Irish version of the site better value, depending on when you're looking to book and what offers each country has at the time (they are not all the same)

    Best onsite hotel for value?

they are all fine - if you want a pool, the Sequoia Lodge, if you don't think you'd have time to use it (we rarely do ;)) the Cheyenne or the Santa Fe are good basic choices.

Booking 'Meet the characters' etc, do you do this before going and on what site?

if its meals, you can book the character meal restaurants for the price of a phone call on the Disney dining reservation line, up to 60 days before you check in.
