We were flyong to disney tomorrwo, but cant now as son has chicken pox. Have checked the school dates for april in france and am I right in thinking that the french schools are off for most of april?

Even though we can claim the money back through insurance we cant afford too much more than we already paid

    oh no! thats a shame.
yes, French and European schools are off through most of April this year, and there are also a lot of French public holidays in May.

Hiya we got back Thursday morning and it was amazing, must say it was a little busier then expected at the time of year but i assume that was due to being the week before the 20th celebrations.
We stayed in the Disneyland hotel itself and i must say it was far better then expected. the character interaction was much better then what we have had in any of the other hotels and the rooms were clean, tidy and well maintained. Unfortunately my niece has bad travel sickness and spent most of the 3 days we had there poorly but we still managed to do all the rides the kids wanted to along with see the parade and have photo's with most of the characters (cramming the activities in when she had a spurt of energy).
The parade was quite cool and had the new music along with new floats so we managed to get a sneak preview of all that.
was a little worried about my brother being a fussy eater but he loved the chicken nuggets sold in most places and after us getting fed up of fast food we booked lunch in the inventions cafe and although it cost 200 euro's for 4 adults and 1 child it was lovely. There was a selection of different foods to suit most and the staff were very friendly and helpful.
Overall had a great time and my mum sister brother and neice all loved Disney.

Can anyone tell me where I could book a Disney hotel without the tickets as I was thinking of using the Disney tickets from Sky? Which hotel is best for 2 adults and a 12 year old girl, btw she is their neice, to stay near/in Disney?

Hi heading to disney on 4th May to 8th May with 2 other adults and my 5 year old niece and nephew who is is 8 months. My niece has a heart condition so has a special buggy disabled badge and obviously my nephew has one. Wanting as hassle free , safe transfer as possible was thinking of booking a private transfer, possibly with child safety seats as not taking these, can anyone recommend a company. We a staying at the disney hotel. Is there any shops in vicinity of the park if we need extra supplies for the kids.

    Thanks all

you can check on trivago and Expedia to look for room only prices for the Disney onsite hotels - but be aware they are generally at least double the price of very nearby hotels!

You don't have to stay onsite to enjoy DLP - there are 4 associated hotels which are a better standard than most of the onsite hotels. They are the Dream Castle, Magic Circus, Kyriad and Explorers. They can be booked on many online agents websites, and they all have their own websites too. All 4 of these hotels would be suitable (all except the Kyriad have their own swimming pool) and all 4 of them are served by free shuttle buses to and from the DLP parks all day and evening, every day.

we have stayed in The Kyriad and The Explorers for a lot less than an onsite Disney hotel !

would you consider this ? still served by shuttles and only a few mins further than the onsite hotels

we booked bed and breakfast both times with www.travelrepublic.co.uk
    also try expedia

We had a private transfer last time we travelled. It was with A2B transfers. They were on time, had booster seats etc. Couldn't fault them.

What sort of supplies? Nappies etc? The shops in the hotels sell some essentials. Can't vouch for how much they cost though. There's a big Auchan hypermarket at Val D'Europe (about 10 mins away) too where the prices would probably be more 'sensible'.
COMP WINS FOR HUBBY & I SINCE SEPTEMBER:

The Kyriad seems a lot cheaper than a lot of the hotels, is the food alright in it? Can you get dinner in the evening in it? I most read further into this! THANKS!

most guests don't actually eat dinner in the hotel they're staying at while at DLP. This is because the shuttle bus takes about 5 minutes to take you to the Village area, where there are restaurants, cafes and bars. Also, if you're inside the park there are many options there too for dining :). We usually only are in the hotel for breakfast in the morning, then we're out and we don't come back until its time for bath and bed at night.

    Hi

Can someone tell me if this is a good deal please. We are a family of 3 a child of 4 going to DLP on the 2nd-4th August. We have 2 free tickets for the park through Sky so need to buy one for the little one. I have been collecting tesco club vouchers and converted them to airmiles. I have a quote from avios for our trip with Eurostar 2 nights with a stay in either the Park Suite Presitge Val'Europe for £481.50 or a stay at the Dream Castle for £517.50 with 11,000 airmiles

Do you think this is a good deal as I have been hearing that converting tesco points doesn't always work out cheaper.

ALso has anyone stayed at these hotels, whats the verdict?

I tried to get a quote for the same holiday with expedia but flying and it was about £600 without airmiles so not much different to using the vouchers. I was a bit reluctant to go via air as the journey the other end to the hotel i have heard is over an hour.

    any help would be great
