Hi Guys,
Were going to DLP next sunday (17th).
There's 3 of us going 2 adults & 1 4 year old.
Please can anyone let me know what there thoughts are on half board meal tickets.
Is it worth me ordering some this week before we go?
Many thanks0 -
thats good, my other half and mother will make good use of the kettle
ill take tea bags and sugar and milk. where abouts is the best place to stand for the evening parade or stars and cars parade? we had a few problems last time with other ppl pushing in but this time have a little two year old so want to try our best to prevent it.
also the packs you get on the Eurostar, do you pick them up yourself or are they given out? we have booked travel and stay separately and will be going from st Pancras x0 -

i don't like them personally, i don't think they save you much money and they restrict where you can eat.0 -

i don't even bother with stars n cars anymore because they don't do the stage show or the character interaction in the parade now, its just a drive-past by the characters in their cars. But anywhere on the roped-off route will be fine for that.
For the daily parade in the main park I like to stand in Fantasyland, opposite the Bella Notte restaurant, its usually quiet up at that end of the parade route and as thats usually where the parade starts, you can nip off and do some rides in Fantasyland when the parade has passed you, and everyone else is still watching.
i dont' know about the kids packs on eurostar, we don't travel to DLP that way.0 -
thanks for the advice ballet shoes, hopefully it wont be too busy that week anyway but ill have to wait and see on that one. looking forward to staying in the disney hotel as we did sequoia lodge last time x0

Hi packs for eurostar, you get them from the info desk which is on the right hand side once you get in, They dont seem to advertise it, but go and ask, and they just give. If you can get a seat/table over by the desk they have art on the walls and touch screens on the table for moving and zooming in, kept my kids entertained lol.
We went half board and found that usefull and we saved money, but I think it depends on where you eat, also you are restricted to where to eat, It didnt bother us, we had booked most meals in advanced, and all where covered, except for princess lunch, (we had paid for that before going half board we also had paid and booked a cookout lunch so had a extra voucher.)We did cowboy cook out 3 times but was there for 6 days lol. The cowboy cookout lunch, although food typical burger, not much choice, is brill for atmosphere and charecture interaction.
I dont know best place to stand for parade, (as disabled son so we got into the disabled veiwing spaces.) BUT I would say if you can get near to the disabled areas then they would be a good place to watch if the disabled areas are not too busy, there is one in the plaza (bit in front of castle) if you stand on the side in front of the food stand near the bin, and rope for disabled area, the floats will go passed the disabled area then you, we also noticed that the disabled area got a lot of attention from the charectures and they would continue onto the people stood next to it. If it is quiet they sometimes half the disabled area so that is also a good place to be if they do that. We where lucky to get in and had only about 5 or 6 families in the areas.0 -
Hi... Did I hear that there will be fireworks on the 17th of this month? Sure I'd read it somewhere.
Not long to go now, we're both very very excited... well me mostly lolol. There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.0 -
yes, 17th is st patricks day, and its a firework day at DLP. they have an extra mini parade, pipe bands and irish dancers on that day in the main park, Minnie and Mickey dress up in Emerald green, and fireworks over the castle end the park day
