Hi Everyone
Im taking the missus and the two kids to Paris for her 40th Birthday in mid-April. She thinks shes off to London for a few days, but I've booked us on Leisure Direct class on Eurostar to Disneyland Paris, so she'll have a nice surprise when we get to London and I tell her. She's just recovering from cancer and has had a really rough year. Therefore, has anyone got any good ideas how I can make her 40th really special when were over there? We're already booked into the Disneyland Hotel, but I want it to be a Birthday she never forgets.
For one, what about a character meal? Something the kids can enjoy, too.
The California Grill is one of the two restaurants in the Disneyland Hotel (the more expensive upmarket one!). Maybe you could arrange a private meal for two? Get the kids entertained or asleep or something? I'm sure if you phone ahead and ask nicely they'll reserve you a window table overlooking the park.0 -
Hi, hope someone can help - going to DLP next Tuesday & will be taking my nationwideflex direct direct cashcard so i can make free cash withdrawals.
Are there ATMs there & are there any to avoid which make hidden charges.? Any that I should use ?

There are ATMs, yes. They're marked on the park map - according to this map there's three in the park, two in Main Street USA and one elsewhere. There are some in Walt Disney Studios Park, too. If you pick up a free map on the way in, they'll show them.
As far as I can recall, they all use the same bank / cashpoint thing, so presumably they'd all charge the same. Check to see if getting euros beforehand would be cheaper.0 -
Hi
me and my husband are after taking our 2yr old daughter to disneyland paris the last week in june 2008 travelling on the eurostar from ashford direct to disney staying for 3 nights.
I have been searching the internet for the cheapest possible deal staying in a disney hotel (santa fe and cheyenne seem the cheapest), yet £681 seems a tad expensive to me!
Can anyone recommend any cheaper websites or how to do it cheaper?????
also how busy will it be in june????0 -
Hi disney fans
DH & I are going to disneyland paris on tuesday for a 4night stay. Can you give me any money saving tips? My dd's are 3,2 so am hoping a quick trip to the disney shop won't be too expensive!
I'm really looking for ideas for food and drink etc?
Thanks Helliecopter x

Hi Bailiee,
Are you booking a package?? I was not sure if you had booked your train, do it DIY if not, the train will be around £55 each return (no seat needed for DD as she can go on your lap) and the hotel £492 for the Santa Fe for 3 night from Monday 23rd June. This is a busy time of year as many people will be going because of the warmer weather. Same as in the UK really. I was not sure of the exact dates, you might get some quidco with Expedia or DLP direct for the hotel, but you have chosen the busy times to go. Are you tied by dates? it is cheaper to go for 3 days from Monday 2nd June - £396 in Santa Fe.
HTH
PS. Also check out Expedia as they are sometimes cheaper and do your tran via the eurostar website.0 -

LOL, seriously, buy a blindfold!! Everything is so expensive in the shops espeially with the euro/£ rate not being all that.
Food and drink: Go toKing Ludwigs Castle, they do deals before 7pm such as kids eat for 5 Euros, this is the cheapest place we found for a sit down meal. Then you'll get a voucher for 20% off at the Rainforest Cafe so go there after KLC. There is McDonalds but everything else is pretty much the same 10-15 Euros for a basic burger meal which is pretty pants fast food stuff. Go to McDonalds as you know what you are getting then if 'doing burgers'. Some of them tasted nasty!! Also check the 'bar food' in your hotel - ours was 5 Euros for a ham baguette and some crisps which was really good considering some of the prices.
Have fun0 -
Its no more expensive than disney stores here. Of course it can get expensive if they want loads, but my dd is just over 2 and didnt ask for anything bar a minnie mouse cup and a pluto teddy, spent about £25 on her thats it in 2 days.
Drinks are expensive in DLP, but if you go in the RER which you pass when you get off shuttlebus or walk into the DLP theres a newsagents in there that sell drinks and snacks etc much cheaper than in the resort.
Ive been told, altho dont know that is disney village theres a mcdonalds which is cheaper to eat in. If you go into DLP the cheapest meals we found were 9 euros for adults and 6 euros for kids. I you go on high street USA theres a american style diner thing that sell hotdogs and chips and theyre portions are massive! The kids also get a yoghurt and colouring jigsaw too.We found these the best value in DLP at 9 and 6 euros. We only went 2 wks ago so prices will still be the same when you goWins so far this year: Mum to be bath set, follow me Domino Dog, Vital baby feeding set, Spiderman goody bag, free pack of Kiplings cakes, £15 love to shop voucher, HTC Desire, Olive oil cooking spray, Original Source Strawberry Shower Gel, Garnier skin care hamper, Marc Jacobs fragrance.0 -
thanks blue
The children eating for €5 is brillant so we'll give that a go first. We're staying B&B so the plan is to have a big breaky, snacky lunch and a normal dinner. We're quite lucky as we live in Germany so we don't lose out in the currency exchange. I've set a budget of €50 for the children to spend in the shop and really hope we stick to it. I'm just hoping they can't carry much .... as they've got really short arms!:rotfl:It seems my DD2 decides want she wants and then won't let go of it! Note to self.... start at the mini teddy shelf holding capacity will only be 2 - 1 for each hand!
I think I'm more excited than the children.... DH and I went to Disney,Calfornia as part of our honeymoon and it was FAB!LMB 01/03/08£9001.61 £10/6 6089.70 - 32%paid off!
