I dont agree when people say that, I still need a nice hotel not saying santa fe isnt as never been there. But I cant sleep somewhere I dont feel comfortable and / or clean. Plus your not just sleeping there, you shower, eat brekkie there etc. I thought oh we only sleep there when we last went when I saw photos online of our hotel but it really put a dampner on our holiday knowing we had to go back to the dump lolWins so far this year: Mum to be bath set, follow me Domino Dog, Vital baby feeding set, Spiderman goody bag, free pack of Kiplings cakes, £15 love to shop voucher, HTC Desire, Olive oil cooking spray, Original Source Strawberry Shower Gel, Garnier skin care hamper, Marc Jacobs fragrance.0

I think when people say "basic" they dont mean unclean / a "dump" lol
clean and tidy but just not with lots of "extras"
which when you only sleep and shower / dress there,is not really essential
I would rather save money on accomodation and have more to spend on nice meals, souvenirs etc0 -
Hi, Sorry I have never been in Sept but we have been twice in March the first time was lovely the second time in snowed, said I would never go back at that time, last year we went in june it was terrible very wet and cold. Then went back in October it was cold on the mornings but then turned out to be lovey sunny days getting cold again on the nights but very enjoyable.
Hoping to go back in Novemebr this year and hoping for the best I know it will be cold but as long as it it dry I wont complain. I am sure you will have a lovely time in September.
Have you or anyone else considered an annual pass, kids under seven go free till November, works out around £90 for an adult per year but you also get lots of other discounts in the park. If anyone needs more info on this PM me. (for some reason when I post this my posts are removed but I would say this is moneysaving)

I went to DLP in September and October 06 (for Halloween) and bought an Annual Pass on my very first trip there. My boyfriend has been around 30 times in 10 years and for a three day pass twice a year there is a large saving.
When we visited in September, it was in the first week of the month so still very, very warm. Halloween was warm during the daytime and freezing at night!0 -
thanks for all your help!
Found that booking through world travellers website they gave me a cheap quote, not as cheap as booking everything myself, but as this is our first time to DLP thought i'd give someone else all the hard work to do!!!
how much spending money do you recommend for food, drinks and anything my dd pesters me for (4 days and 3 nights)?0 -
Were going on 15th so hopefully still be warm. When we went in March it was warm in the day and freezing at night, much colder than our nights.
I agree with basic hotels yes as long as theyre clean, i was just referring to the dump I stayed in lol

what type of difference is there between the Santa Fe and the Sequioa lodge, apart from the obvious price difference???
Just waiting for dds passport to come back before I can book (wish it would hurry up) and i'm contemplating one of the above hotels.
Is it worth paying the extra £100 for the 3 nights in the Sequioa, its just so many people are referring to the Santa Fe as a 'dump', and I don't want this to ruin our break!
Also how much spending money for food / drinks and toys etc for 4 days 3 nights would anyone recommend?0 -
Just came back today from DLP. Stayed in the Santa Fe, 2 adults and 2 kids. First time there. Santa Fe is basic but rooms are good and clean and the food is good. Not been to Sequioa but I would personally save the £100 and put it towards your spending money. We had three nights and effectively three days and probably spent around 500 euros including food, drinks and bits and pieces. The kids also spent a few bob of their own money on toys and keepsakes. A tip mentioned many times is to make up some sandwiches from buns/ham etc at breakfast from hotel buffet. This will save you a lot of cash as snacks in the parks can be pricey. We went to Rainforest Cafe one night and a meal for four with drinks came to about 100 euro.
One other thing, it was cold so take warm clothes. Hope you enjoy!0 -
I personally don't like the Santa Fe. Architecturally I just think they got it wrong, which means that it doesn't have a great vibe, whatever Disney does to improve things (which is quite ironic because Disney are some of the best at hotel theming in the world). I'd much rather stay at the Cheyenne (same star rating, more fun, especially for kids, much better themed), or for a similar price at one of the better hotels at Val de France (eg the Holiday Inn, which I love). Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? I'd agree with the above, I think the public areas on the Cheyenne are much nicer and more "hotel like" and certainly the rooms are lovely but I haven't been in a room in the Sante Fe.0
